McCain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c6514oQ1G7g\">stated<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">This photo, <strong>this photo<\/strong>, which was taken shortly after Aylan&#8217;s dead body was washed ashore, has opened the world\u2019s eye to this devastating crisis. Within hours of this photo being posted, people across the world began to share it on social media using a hashtag in Arabic that translates to &#8220;humanity washed ashore.&#8221; This image has haunted the world&#8230;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">In response, Created Equal founder Mark Harrington\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MarkCreatedEqual\/posts\/10153630530689920\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">, &#8220;&#8230;<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">\u00a0And I often hear that using abortion victim photos is an ineffective way to persuade people&#8230; Hmm.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I was heartbroken when I saw Aylan&#8217;s photo, as were millions of others across the globe. But none of us would have seen the photo\u00a0had\u00a0the media been consistent in its view that images of dead children should not be shown publicly.<\/p>\n<p>As the head of a pro-life organization\u00a0who\u00a0is often the target of attack for showing images of abortion victims, Harrington made a correct observation. Imagine for a moment seeing <em>any<\/em> child injured or dead and not aching with compassion.\u00a0What response would be expected after such an image is presented?<\/p>\n<p>To me, each\u00a0child,\u00a0created for a special purpose, is not simply a &#8220;photo&#8221; or a &#8220;news story.&#8221;\u00a0Each is\u00a0very real.\u00a0This is exactly why I speak for unborn children targeted for death inside the womb.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion became personal several years ago when I <a href=\"https:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/2015\/01\/19\/the-day-i-saw-abortion-first-hand\/\" target=\"_blank\">saw <\/a>a dead child up close &#8211; when I held his tiny, broken body in my own arms and wept. Sadly, this child was among several others who suffered the same plight. This child was neither clothed nor intact, and there was no photographer waiting to tell his story. He\u00a0and the children he was with were ripped into pieces and buried in a heap of trash, in a place of darkness and waste &#8211;\u00a0senselessly killed inside an American abortion clinic\u00a0and discarded by staff\u00a0into a dumpster. Out of respect for these children, I chose to search\u00a0for the\u00a0broken bodies of these children to\u00a0make certain they had proper burials.<\/p>\n<p>So when I and other pro-lifers display images of of aborted children, it is not because of a lack of\u00a0respect for them,\u00a0their pain, or their stories. It is\u00a0the opposite.<\/p>\n<p>When society rejects our abortion victim imagery, they do so with great hypocrisy. If they believed their own criticism, they would equally lecture against others who show images of deceased\u00a0children. They understand that when a people group resorts to slaughtering innocent children it is beyond time to speak out &#8211; it is time for action.<\/p>\n<p>For many, the plight of the boy in the red shirt haunted\u00a0them and made them uncomfortable enough to\u00a0look deeply &#8211; to question their politics, position, and humanity.\u00a0This\u00a0is also the goal of pro-lifers who\u00a0display\u00a0the images of abortion victims. Children are children whether born or unborn, and human compassion should invoke a pause when they are killed, whatever the circumstance.<\/p>\n<p>When I think about the victims of abortion and I see the Syrian boy, the words of author Joel Rosenberg sum up my feelings best:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-73759\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Joel-Rosenberg.jpg\" alt=\"Joel Rosenberg\" width=\"577\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Joel-Rosenberg.jpg 577w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Joel-Rosenberg-300x133.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Darkness is falling. Innocent babies are dying and the world does nothing. #Assad #ISIS #Syria #PlannedParenthood&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is happening to children\u00a0&#8211; including\u00a0babies in the womb &#8211; is wrong.
