Time to stop treating it that way"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>It looks like Planned Parenthood has found the cause of its latest scandal. <a title=\"Parade of Planned Parenthood hearings begins next week\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/post-politics\/wp\/2015\/09\/02\/parade-of-planned-parenthood-hearings-begins-next-week\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">According to<\/span><\/u><\/a> Dawn Laguens, vice president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the problem is that \u201cextremists\u201d are waging a \u201crelentless campaign\u201d to \u201cvillainize providers\u201d and \u201cblock millions from accessing basic reproductive health care.\u201d It\u2019s because of this conspiracy that Planned Parenthood officials are now\u00a0<a title=\"Judiciary Committee To Hold First Planned Parenthood Hearing\" href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2015\/09\/02\/judiciary-committee-to-hold-first-planned-parenthood-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">facing questions<\/span><\/u><\/a> on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n<p>I guess all those felonies they discuss on tape\u00a0have nothing to do with it.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the <u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">Center for Medical Progress<\/span><\/u> (CMP) began putting out a series of videos featuring high level Planned Parenthood figures. Shot on hidden cameras, they document meetings with people claiming to be human tissue buyers. Time and again,\u00a0they show\u00a0how much Planned Parenthood cares about obeying the law: It doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jjxwVuozMnU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Take partial-birth abortions. They\u2019ve been illegal since 2003, but that doesn\u2019t seem to be a problem for Planned Parenthood\u2019s senior director of medical services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola. On CMP\u2019s first release, Nucatola explains that \u201cthe Federal (Partial-Birth) Abortion Ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation.\u201d Four minutes and ten seconds into the footage, she describes committing what most would interpret as a violation of said law.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/partialbirthabortion.jpg\" alt=\"partialbirthabortion\" width=\"672\" height=\"372\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s not all. 42 U.S.C. \u00a7289g-1 prohibits \u201calteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy\u2026 solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue.\u201d Doing so might <a title=\"42 U.S. Code \u00a7 289g\u20131 - Research on transplantation of fetal tissue\" href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/42\/289g-1\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">be a felony<\/span><\/u><\/a>, but that hasn\u2019t stopped Dr. Nucatola from getting \u201cvery good\u201d at it:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We\u2019ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I\u2019m not gonna crush that part, I\u2019m gonna basically crush below, I\u2019m gonna crush above, and I\u2019m gonna see if I can get it all intact.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As you\u2019re reading the word \u201ccrush,\u201d please keep in mind that Dr. Nucatola performs abortions at up to 24 weeks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MjCs_gvImyw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The second video had a different star with the same attitude. Dr. Mary Gatter is the president of Planned Parenthood\u2019s medical director\u2019s council, and she starts by making it clear she won\u2019t tolerate any <a title=\"\u201cI want a Lamborghini\u201d \u2013 Planned Parenthood official caught haggling over fetal tissue price\" href=\"\/news\/breaking-planned-parenthood-medical-director-caught-on-video-haggling-over-fetal-tissue-price\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201clowball\u201d prices<\/a> for\u00a0fetal organs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodexposed.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gatter then\u00a0describes how far she\u2019ll go to get the buyer \u201can intact specimen\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Let me explain to you a little bit of a problem, which may not be a big problem. If our usual technique is suction, at 10 to 12 weeks, and we switch to using an IPAS [manual vacuum aspirator] or something with less suction, in order to increase the odds that it will come out as an intact specimen, then we\u2019re kind of violating the protocol that says to the patient, \u201cWe\u2019re not doing anything different in our care for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Does breaking the law and lying to her patients bother Dr. Gatter? <em>Please<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Now, to me, that\u2019s kind of a specious little argument, and I wouldn\u2019t object to asking Ian \u2014 who\u2019s our surgeon who does the cases \u2014 to use an IPAS at that gestational stage, in order to increase the odds that he\u2019s going to get an intact specimen.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On the fourth video, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains\u2019 vice president, Dr. Savita Ginde, not only agrees to alter abortion techniques but also promises to instruct others to as well. She later takes her guests on a tour of the facility, pausing to look down at a dead fetus and declare, \u201c<a title=\"Planned Parenthood admits on tape: \u2018It\u2019s a baby\u2019\" href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-admits-on-tape-its-a-baby\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">It\u2019s a baby<\/span><\/u><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GWQuZMvcFA8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Another notable moment is when Dr. Ginde admits that children are sometimes <a title=\"Planned Parenthood video reveals possibility of babies being born alive and killed\" href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-video-reveals-possibility-babies-born-alive-killed\/\" target=\"_blank\">delivered intact<\/a> during botched abortions. She isn\u2019t the only one tied to Planned Parenthood\u00a0who mentions this.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ndJMawjoyPc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Perrin Larton is a procurement manager with Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR), a company that supplies researchers with human tissue and has a long history with Planned Parenthood. On CMP\u2019s ninth video, Larton notes that ABR technicians are placed right outside the room when an\u00a0abortion is being performed. Once the child has been dismembered, there&#8217;s a warm\u00a0pile of body parts waiting to be poked through.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40399\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/DE.jpg\" alt=\"D&amp;E\" width=\"653\" height=\"475\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/DE.jpg 653w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/DE-300x218.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 653px) 100vw, 653px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But sometimes these kids\u00a0just <a title=\"Planned Parenthood baby parts vendor admits intact babies \u2018just fell out\u2019\" href=\"\/news\/breaking-planned-parenthood-baby-parts-vendor-admits-intact-babies-just-fell-out\/\" target=\"_blank\">won\u2019t follow the program<\/a>; instead of bloody chunks, technicians occasionally find someone\u2019s son or daughter still intact. As Larton explains,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I literally have had women come in and they\u2019ll go in the O.R. and they\u2019re back out in 3 minutes, and I\u2019m going, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d Oh yeah, the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Larton doesn\u2019t say what happens when babies survive abortions at Planned Parenthood, but can Holly O\u2019Donnell\u00a0shed some light.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FzMAycMMXp8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell was procurement technician with StemExpress, another tissue firm that worked closely with Planned Parenthood. In the video above, she recalls the time a supervisor showed her an aborted baby whose heart was still beating. Was O\u2019Donnell told to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/107th-congress\/house-bill\/2175\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">federal law<\/span><\/u><\/a>\u00a0and summon medical help? No, of course not; she was instructed to <u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">cut open<\/span><\/u> the head and start harvesting brain matter.<\/p>\n<p>That approach seems to be prevalent among &#8220;choice providers.&#8221; In 2013, pregnant Live Action\u00a0volunteers used hidden cameras to record their visits to late-term abortion facilities. Pretending to want abortions, the volunteers asked what happens when a baby survives the procedure. On multiple visits, \u00a0they were promised that surviving infants are either <a title=\"Inhuman: Undercover in America's Late-Term Abortion Industry\" href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/inhuman\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">killed or left to die<\/span><\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eipSl72hsmI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>And these aren\u2019t the only crimes you\u2019ll find at Planned Parenthood&#8211;the group also has a history of helping <a title=\"I\u2019m not surprised Planned Parenthood would sell body parts; they\u2019ve been selling out abuse victims for years.\" href=\"\/news\/im-not-surprised-planned-parenthood-sell-body-parts-theyve-selling-abuse-victims-years\/\" target=\"_blank\">sexual predators<\/a> and <a title=\"Planned Parenthood pays millions to settle willful fraud, medical records tampering\" href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-pays-millions-to-settle-willful-fraud-medical-records-tampering\/\" target=\"_blank\">committing fraud<\/a>. So why does Planned Parenthood act like it\u2019s above the law? Probably because it get\u2019s treated that way.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all that\u2019s happened, the Department of Justice has yet to take action against America\u2019s <a title=\"Planned Parenthood performed 327K abortions in fiscal 2014: \u2018We\u2019ve come a long way\u2019\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2015\/jan\/1\/planned-parenthood-327k-abortions-fiscal-2014\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">largest abortion chain<\/span><\/u><\/a>. In fact, far from prosecuting Planned Parenthood, the federal government is continuing to fund it. Every year, Planned Parenthood receives over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2013\/01\/08\/planned-parenthood-receives-record-amount-taxpayer-support\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">half\u00a0a billion<\/span><\/u><\/a> dollars in government money.<\/p>\n<p>Although Senate pro-lifers tried redirecting that money to <a href=\"\/news\/abortion-lobby-stands-in-way-more-funding-health-centers\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">community health centers<\/span><\/u><\/a>, they were blocked by much of the Democratic caucus. The White house also <a title=\"White House threatens to veto bill blocking Planned Parenthood's funding\" href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/249936-white-house-threatens-to-veto-bill-blocking-planned-parenthoods-funding\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">threatened to veto<\/span><\/u><\/a> any defunding bill that did pass. Meanwhile, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has said that such efforts have left her \u201c<a title=\"Top Democrat says she\u2019s \u2018pissed off\u2019 about efforts to defund Planned Parenthood\" href=\"\/news\/dnc-chair-says-shes-pissed-off-efforts-defund-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\">pissed off<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live Action feels a little different. In fact, the group has established a <a title=\"Planned Parenthood Exposed\" href=\"http:\/\/plannedparenthoodexposed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">petition<\/span><\/u><\/a> supporting those efforts. By signing it, you can help show that Planned Parenthood needs to be held accountable.
