In a transcript<\/a> released by the Center for Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood Senior Director of Medical Services Deborah Nucatola makes a startling claim. In a discussion on the sale of human body parts from abortions, Nucatola states:<\/p>\n

… In most markets their volume\u2019s not going to compare to Planned Parenthood\u2019s volume. We have 40 percent of the market in the whole country… Not that we’re trying to, we just do.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Nucatola’s claim of 40%\u00a0market control\u00a0appears to be a bit of an exaggeration<\/a>, as Planned Parenthood performs about 27.5% of all abortions in the United States, according to the Guttmacher Institute. But why would\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u00a0claim to be such a dominant force in the abortion industry, while simultaneously trying to convince the public that abortion accounts for only 3% of their services, and that they don’t perform many abortions?<\/p>\n

In an effort to sell human body parts to undercover investigators posing as buyers,\u00a0Nucatola made every effort to portray Planned Parenthood\u00a0as the most stable abortion provider in the nation,\u00a0the most\u00a0reliable source of a large volume of human body parts from abortion.<\/p>\n

Some people, including many in the media,\u00a0still seem to be under the impression that Planned Parenthood doesn’t perform many abortions<\/a>. Planned Parenthood’s own claims challenge that. According to Media Matters,\u00a0Planned Parenthood’s\u00a0\u201ctotal revenue from abortion services was approximately $164,154,000,\u201d a year. This\u00a0means that\u00a0over 51 percent<\/a> of Planned Parenthood\u2019s clinic income comes from abortion.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s 40% claim may be an exaggeration, but they are nonetheless America’s largest abortion provider, making millions per year in abortion revenue, taxpayer funding, and apparently\u00a0the illegal sale of human body parts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
