Kathleen Sebelius was Kansas Governor at the time the records were destroyed. Earlier this month she was the featured speaker at a fundraiser for NARAL, a national pro-abortion organization.<\/p><\/div>\n

It\u2019s good to have friends in high places. Just ask Planned Parenthood. The Planned Parenthood clinic in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park is facing 107 charges<\/a>, including the falsification of abortion reports. But in a court record released on Friday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment admitted to destroying the evidence that could have proven, among other things, that Planned Parenthood falsified the abortion reports.<\/p>\n

According to the Kansas City Star<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The destroyed records were critical in establishing the authenticity of records from 2003 obtained by [Phill] Kline when he investigated the agency as attorney general. Planned Parenthood later provided copies of the documents that the state contended did not match those Kline had.<\/p>\n

Later, as Johnson County district attorney in 2007, Kline filed the 107-count complaint against the agency.<\/p>\n

Kline argued at the time that the group had performed illegal late-term abortions and falsified or forged documents to make it appear they were legal.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors contended that Planned Parenthood had not kept the documents five years as required by law and falsified copies to cover it up.<\/p>\n

Kline had also charged Planned Parenthood with multiple misdemeanor counts of failing to maintain the pregnancy termination reports, failing to perform viability tests on fetuses and unlawful late-term abortions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment just recently told prosecutors the documents were destroyed as part of a \u201croutine document destruction\u201d in \u201capproximately 2005<\/a>.\u201d Routine?<\/p>\n

From 2003 to 2009, the department was part of pro-abortion Governor Kathleen Sebelius\u2019 administration. Serious questions remain unanswered.<\/p>\n
