Diane Black of Tennessee,\u00a0\u00a0which would impose a year-long moratorium on federal subsidies to the organization, pending the results of an investigation into what laws the abortion giant is breaking as part of its fetal organ harvesting practice.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As Live Action News has <a href=\"\/news\/tag\/diane-black\/\">previously covered<\/a>, Black has been one of the abortion giant&#8217;s more\u00a0vocal\u00a0congressional critics in the wake of undercover\u00a0videos by\u00a0Center for Medical Progress. Black declared\u00a0&#8220;Planned Parenthood&#8217;s culture of depravity runs much deeper than a couple of videos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Word of new House action to defund Planned Parenthood may be a sign\u00a0that Speaker John Boehner is attempting to satisfy pro-life constituents angered when he\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/say-john-boehner-wont-commit-defunding-planned-parenthood\/\">refused to commit<\/a> to pursue defunding in July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodexposed.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, some pro-lifers argue that holding a vote on legislation President Barack Obama is sure to veto is insufficient, and instead advocate attaching defunding language to &#8220;must-pass&#8221; budget legislation, which could risk the possibility of a government shutdown if he refuses to sign.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential candidates Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Bobby Jindal have endorsed a shutdown fight over Planned Parenthood, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2015\/07\/31\/18-house-republicans-pledge-to-shut-down-government-if-planned-parenthood-not-de-funded\/\">as have<\/a>\u00a018 House Republicans.\u00a0But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/house-speaker-boehner-there-will-not-be-a-government-shutdown-2015-07-23\">Boehner<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Senate Majority Leader <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2015\/08\/mitch-mcconnell-planned-parenthood-government-shutdown-121096\">Mitch McConnell<\/a>, as well as Rep.
