\"Stop\"The following is from the horribly shallow explanation of how a chemical abortion procedure occurs found on Planned Parenthood’s website.\u00a0 Pathetic partial-truths like these keep women in the dark about what really happens during an abortion.\u00a0 What other motives does Planned Parenthood have in hiding the\u00a0details from women except monetary incentives?\u00a0 Denying women information is no different than from lying to them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

STEP ONE \u2014 THE ABORTION PILL<\/p>\n

The abortion pill works by blocking the hormone <\/em>progesterone<\/em>. Without progesterone, the lining of the <\/em>uterus <\/em>breaks down, and pregnancy cannot continue.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This cursory description of the initial phase of a medical abortion is the equivalent of telling a heart surgery patient, \u201cWell, you have a heart problem.\u00a0 Without a heart you can\u2019t live. So we\u2019ll fix it,\u201d and leaving it at that.<\/p>\n

This is an intentional vagueness of what actually happens after a pregnant woman ingests Mifepristone (also known as Mifeprex).\u00a0 The abortion pill can be used up to 49 days after conception\u2014 that\u2019s seven weeks.\u00a0 By seven weeks, the unborn child has a heart that beats<\/a>\u00a0up to 170 times per minute, brainwaves<\/a> that are detectable with an EEG, and he or she reacts to physical stimuli<\/a>.\u00a0 It\u2019s not just that the \u201cpregnancy cannot continue\u201d when a woman takes Mifepristone.\u00a0 It\u2019s that her body is artificially made halt the production of progesterone which fructifies the uterus so her unborn child can obtain nutrients from it when he or she implants there.\u00a0 In other words, step one of a medical abortion is to render the uterus uninhabitable by cutting off nutrients to the unborn child so he or she starves to death and thus detaches from the uterine wall.<\/p>\n

STEP TWO \u2014 MISOPROSTOL<\/p>\n

You will take a second medicine \u2014 misoprostol. It causes the uterus to empty.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Here is another insouciant explanation of the medication abortion.\u00a0 \u201cIt causes the uterus to empty.\u201d\u00a0 This sounds as simple as getting your teeth cleaned.\u00a0 A more accurate account would be something along the lines of \u201cThe powerful Misoprostol drug completes your abortion by forcing\u00a0you to expel your dead child from your body.”<\/p>\n

The second medicine \u2014 misoprostol \u2014 will cause you to have cramps and bleed heavily.\u00a0Some women may begin bleeding before taking the second medicine. But for most, the bleeding and cramping begin after taking it. It usually lasts a few hours. You may see large blood clots or tissue at the time of the abortion.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s not just \u201cblood clots or tissue\u201d that many women see after her abortion has taken place.\u00a0 Some women even see the fully intact bodies of their children after they\u2019ve been expelled from their own bodies.<\/p>\n

More than half of women abort within four or five hours after taking the second medicine. For others, it takes longer. But most women abort within a few days.<\/em><\/p>\n

For most women, medication abortion is like an early miscarriage. It is normal for you to have bleeding and cramping. You might also<\/em><\/p>\n
