In\u00a0July of\u00a01970, Planned Parenthood Center of Syracuse became the first free-standing abortion facility in the nation, just one day after New York\u00a0legalized abortion. That year, Planned Parenthood reported an estimated 100 abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As the passage of abortion legislation dominoed across the country, Planned Parenthood’s abortion numbers spiked\u00a0the following years, reaching approximately 5,000\u00a0in 1973. The\u00a0Roe v. Wade<\/em>\u00a0decision that year paved the way for abortion-on-demand across the country, propelling Planned Parenthood\u00a0forward as\u00a0America’s largest abortion chain. In 40-plus years, Margaret Sanger’s corporation grew to become\u00a0a billion dollar\u00a0enterprise, killing\u00a0over 320,000 preborn babies\u00a0every year.<\/p>\n

Paralleling the increase in abortions since 1973 is Planned Parenthood’s U.S. abortion\u00a0marketshare.\u00a0With\u00a0approximately 668 facilities today, Planned Parenthood dominates America’s abortion industry.<\/p>\n

Although\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u00a0propels the human rights abuse of abortion, the federal government hands the conglomerate over $500 million in forced taxpayer funding.\u00a0Planned Parenthood receives more than $1.4 million per day in the form of government grants, Medicaid reimbursements and contracts. According to its annual report,<\/a> taxpayer funding accounts for 41 percent of its total revenue.<\/p>\n

However, the conscience of the American public is being awakened to Planned Parenthood’s grievous\u00a0exploitation of human life. Multiple videos from Center for Medical Progress now\u00a0expose the\u00a0abortion giant’s illegal trafficking of\u00a0preborn baby body parts. The latest scandal has lawmakers examining the organization’s public funding with stronger scrutiny, and some states have taken action to investigate and strip\u00a0funding.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood has also been caught in a slew of illegal activity, including the cover-up of\u00a0child sexual abuse<\/a> and sex-trafficking<\/a>, as investigations by Live Action reveal.
