{"id":70153,"date":"2015-08-12T08:58:50","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T12:58:50","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=70153"},"modified":"2016-09-03T14:45:04","modified_gmt":"2016-09-03T18:45:04","slug":"clinic-worker-jokes-performing-abortions-third-trimester","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/clinic-worker-jokes-performing-abortions-third-trimester\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Parenthood worker jokes about performing abortions in the third trimester"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>On August 8, 2015, former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-lifer Abby Johnson wrote about a conversation she had with other clinic workers in the POC lab, where pieces of aborted babies were stored. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/abbyjohnsonprolife?fref=nf\" target=\"_blank\">She said:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I remember one day at Planned Parenthood we were standing around in the POC lab talking about how far along Warren Hern performed abortions (he performs them up until the date of birth in Colorado). I remember my boss laughing and saying, &#8220;He aborts them so far along they come out crying and looking for their mama.&#8221; Everyone in the room laughed as she made the motion of holding a baby up and spanking it&#8217;s bottom. I went to a friend of mine and asked her what she thought of aborting babies so late&#8230; I had always been uncomfortable with late term abortion. She said, &#8220;Well, it&#8217;s better to kill them before they are put in a dumpster.&#8221; And that was how I then began to justify late term abortion in my mind&#8230; &#8220;better than in a dumpster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Since leaving Planned Parenthood, that conversation has always haunted me&#8230; how easily I could justify something so heinous. I have since learned that if you have to justify something, then you probably shouldn&#8217;t believe in it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It is horrifying to think about Planned Parenthood employees joking about killing full term babies. Hern, who practices in Boulder, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drhern.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">does indeed advertise <\/a>performing third trimester abortions on his website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/plannedparenthoodexposed.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hern <a href=\"http:\/\/capitolwords.org\/date\/1996\/09\/19\/H10608-2_discharging-the-committee-on-the-judiciary-from-fu\/\" target=\"_blank\">once discussed, before a congressional committee, <\/a>some of the reasons why women get late term (second and third trimester)\u00a0abortions:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The typical thing that happens with older women is that they never realize they were pregnant because they were continuing to bleed during the pregnancy. The other thing we see with older women is fetal malformations or Down\u2019s Syndrome&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">With the teenagers, anybody who has ever worked with or had teenagers can appreciate how unpredictable they can be at times. They have adult bodies, but a lot of times they don\u2019t have adult minds. So their reaction to problems tends to get much more emotional than an adult\u2019s might be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It\u2019s a question of maturity. So even though they may have been educated about all kinds of issues in reproductive health, when a teenager becomes pregnant, depending up on her relationship with her family, the amount of peer support she has\u2013every one is a highly-individual case\u2013sometimes they delay until they can no longer contain their problem and it finally comes out. Sometimes it\u2019s money: It takes them a while to get the money. Sometimes its just denial\u2026.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The workers at Planned Parenthood justified killing late term babies (and the word they use is &#8220;killing&#8221;) because they say these babies would be abandoned in dumpsters if they were not directly killed by abortion. The obvious point to make is that whether a baby is abandoned to die in a dumpster or dismembered in the womb, the baby is still dead. \u00a0It is hard to understand the argument.<\/p>\n<p>Third trimester abortions happen in the United States, and abortion providers justify them.
