\"martin-haskell\"In a dispute that has been ongoing for years, the Associated Press reports<\/a> that the Women\u2019s Med Center abortion clinic in Dayton, Ohio, facing possible closure, is requesting an exception to the state\u2019s hospital transfer agreement requirement.<\/p>\n

In June, Ohio\u2019s health director denied their previous request for a variance, determining that the facility\u2019s two backup doctors were insufficient to handle emergencies arising from abortion-related complications.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Med Center wrote back arguing they have a third doctor available, constituting adequate emergency provision to retain their license. Their appeal is currently pending review by the state Health Department.<\/p>\n

The Dayton facility is one of just eight<\/a> abortion clinics remaining in Ohio. As Live Action News reported in June<\/a>, it is operated by infamous partial-birth abortion pioneer Martin Haskell, whose previous efforts to keep the facility open included alleged transfer agreements with one hospital where Haskell failed to name specific physicians, and another whose CEO denied having made any such agreement.<\/p>\n

As Live Action has also reported, Women\u2019s Med Center is also the site of multiple documented medical emergencies resulting from abortions there.
