{"id":6851,"date":"2011-10-06T13:51:38","date_gmt":"2011-10-06T17:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/?p=6851"},"modified":"2013-04-01T19:30:36","modified_gmt":"2013-04-01T23:30:36","slug":"anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6856\" title=\"road-journey\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/road-journey.jpg\" width=\"260\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today is year two.\u00a0 The second year since I walked away from Planned Parenthood.\u00a0 The anniversary of my new life.\u00a0 I am a better mother, a better wife, a better friend, and a new creation in Christ.\u00a0 These two years have been the best of my life.\u00a0 It hasn\u2019t been without some heartache, but it has all been worth it.<\/p>\n<p>I am filled with emotions today.\u00a0 I am happy because I never thought my life would turn out so beautiful.\u00a0 It is wonderful to follow God\u2019s plan.\u00a0 I am blessed in a way that I don\u2019t deserve.\u00a0 I have amazing friends\u2026friends that I didn\u2019t have just two years ago\u2026friends that will be with me the rest of my life.\u00a0 My marriage is better than it has ever been.\u00a0 I never realized how the evil of my job had crept into my life at home.\u00a0 Now we are free of that.\u00a0 I value my daughter more than I ever have.\u00a0 I never really saw motherhood as a gift; now I am able to see that it is the greatest gift we are given as women.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I also look back on the day I resigned and feel emotional.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t have had better allies in my corner\u2026the Brazos Valley Coalition for Life. My world was falling apart and they were strong, prayerful, centered.\u00a0 They were there to guide me when I didn\u2019t know where to step\u2026especially Shawn Carney.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t be here\u2026healthy, grounded, stable\u2026without him.\u00a0 When I showed up at his office, he started to protect me.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t seem to see what was in the future for me, but he could.\u00a0 He was prepared.<\/p>\n<p>I will never forget the day, 2 years ago today, when I told him that I had to resign right then.\u00a0 I said I couldn\u2019t wait.\u00a0 I had planned on waiting, but I just knew I couldn\u2019t wait any longer.\u00a0 I was going to go back there, pack up my stuff and leave.\u00a0 Shawn had been in \u201cgo mode\u201d since minute one and I don\u2019t think he had really gotten a chance to enjoy what was happening.\u00a0 I mean, I was the director of the clinic his group was trying to shut down.\u00a0 This was a victory.\u00a0 But he hadn\u2019t taken the time to celebrate.\u00a0 But there, in that parking lot, just me and Shawn\u2026that was his moment.\u00a0 I will never forget his face\u2026the smile, the joy in his eyes.\u00a0 We both couldn\u2019t stop smiling and laughing.\u00a0 It was pure peace\u2026pure joy.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think I had ever felt that before.<\/p>\n<p>I am also burdened today.\u00a0 So many of my friends are still there, in those clinics.\u00a0 People that won\u2019t communicate with me anymore.\u00a0 Good people who are misdirected.\u00a0 I am now the enemy.\u00a0 I feel broken for all of those that are still caught in the justification of the abortion industry.\u00a0 I desperately want them to feel the freedom that I do.\u00a0 I want to share this happiness with them.\u00a0 If they could just experience it for one day, they would never go back.\u00a0 If they could just free themselves from the lie, the truth would heal their brokenness.\u00a0 I fear for their hearts\u2026I am scared they will become hardened.\u00a0 I fear for their eternal souls.\u00a0 I pray for all clinic workers every day.\u00a0 I hope you will also consider making this a priority for you.<\/p>\n<p>I have to thank everyone who has been on this journey with me.\u00a0 All of you have been my inspiration. You keep me going every day.\u00a0 The stories you share with me touch my heart.\u00a0 I am just one person in this mighty pro-life army.\u00a0 All of you keep me strong.\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 And especially to Elizabeth McClung.\u00a0 You were once my sidewalk counselor\u2026now you are my best friend.\u00a0 God had something very special in store for us.\u00a0 You bring me sunshine every day.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion has been my life for 10 years now.\u00a0 I have destroyed many lives.\u00a0 I will live every day righting that wrong.\u00a0 St. Joan of Arc said, \u201cI am not afraid.
