Kansans for Life <a href=\"https:\/\/kansansforlife.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/20\/kansas-judge-stalls-2011-abortion-clinic-regs-again\/\">notes<\/a> that state attorney Sarah Warner argued that the U.S. Supreme Court has rejected precisely that argument twenty times, as well as upheld government\u2019s \u201ccompelling interest\u201d in ensuring the safety of women seeking abortions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>However, Theis issued a &#8220;refusal to rule&#8221; anyway, claiming he lacked the &#8220;total picture.&#8221; This, Kansans for Life&#8217;s Kathy Ostrowsi argues,\u00a0&#8220;ducked the critical question he was supposed to answer: whether certain \u2018already settled\u2019 claims should be eliminated and focus on whether the state had indeed issued \u2018rational\u2019 medical facility oversight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOutside of the horror that&#8217;s happening to their babies, we can at least stop some of these facilities by having some sensible regulations,&#8221; Ostrowski said.<\/p>\n<p>The pro-life group is awaiting the decision of the state attorney general\u2019s office on\u00a0how to proceed with the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kansans for Life has accused\u00a0Topeka District Judge Franklin Theis of holding up the resolution of\u00a0a legal dispute over the state\u2019s abortion clinic regulations for three years, One News Now reported on Tuesday.
