Going on a date can offer a lot of promise. Even if you don\u2019t meet the love of your life, you can at least hope for\u00a0an engaging conversation.<\/p>\n

However, I\u2019ve learned that\u00a0when the evening begins at a hotel bar and the person you\u2019re with immediately starts throwing back appletinis, you can suspect there won’t be much intelligent discourse.\u00a0If you later find yourself desperately trying to\u00a0stop this person from pounding on random doors,\u00a0then consider that suspicion\u00a0confirmed.<\/p>\n

This illustrates why background information is a good thing to have, and not just when it comes to a night out. It’s also a\u00a0smart idea to\u00a0learn what an employer is like before taking a job. After all, a bad career choice can bring negative consequences, like getting stuck in a lousy work environment. Or becoming an accessory to child rape.<\/p>\n

Or, in the case of Planned Parenthood, both.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood has a simple slogan: \u201cCare. No matter what.\u201d\u00a0It isn’t\u00a0clear who this care is directed towards. Not victims of sexual violence, although some of their abusers have gotten a hand.<\/p>\n

Gary Cross<\/a> certainly did. In 2002, his 13-year-old stepdaughter started putting on weight, something her mother noticed. The weight gain was a problem for Cross; he knew it was because he\u2019d gotten his stepdaughter pregnant.<\/p>\n

To conceal his crimes,\u00a0Cross brought his victim to a California Planned Parenthood facility. Staff there didn\u2019t tell authorities that one of their pregnant patients was well below the age of consent. Instead, they referred her for a late-term abortion. With the evidence safely gone, Cross resumed raping the girl for months thereafter.<\/p>\n

Timothy Smith<\/a>, John Blanks, Jr.<\/a>,\u00a0Adam Gault<\/a>, and other<\/a> sexual predators have also gotten assistance from Planned Parenthood. That\u2019s easy to do when its employees don\u2019t want to know what\u2019s going on. In her\u00a0lawsuit<\/a> against the group, Denise Fairbanks described explicitly telling clinic staff that she had been brought in by her incestuous father. Rather than contact law enforcement, Planned Parenthood performed an abortion and sent her home.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s approach has been documented repeatedly. When Live Action founder Lila Rose claimed to be a 14-year-old who\u2019d been impregnated by her 31-year-old boyfriend, a Planned Parenthood counselor said she should lie about her age when seeking an abortion. Individuals at other Planned Parenthood clinics have offered similar advice<\/a>.<\/p>\n
