\"diane-black\"Tennessee Congresswoman Diane Black has introduced<\/a> HR 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015. This bill would impose a year-long moratorium on all federal funding for the abortion giant pending an investigation of the abortion giant\u2019s harvesting and sale of aborted babies\u2019 organs.<\/p>\n

Black declared on the House floor Tuesday night that \u201cPlanned Parenthood\u2019s culture of depravity runs much deeper than a couple of videos.\u201d<\/p>\n

Condemning Planned Parenthood for \u201csu[ing] to overturn our state\u2019s informed consent and mandatory licensing laws,\u201d \u201cdeceiv[ing women] at their most difficult and vulnerable moments,\u201d and \u201cma[king] a business out of destroying that which God has created,\u201d the Congresswoman called on Congress to pass her legislation because the \u201cone-sided relationship between Planned Parenthood\u2019s ever-growing bank account and American taxpayers must be severed.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Live Action News noted when she made similar comments last week<\/a>, Black has a 40-year history as a nurse and previously sponsored the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, which would deny Title X family planning grants to groups that provide or subsidize abortions.<\/p>\n

The release of the Center for Medical Progress\u2019 second video <\/a>– in which Planned Parenthood Medical Directors\u2019 Council president Mary Gatter discusses \u201cworthwhile\u201d compensation for Planned Parenthood’s efforts as well as how to change abortion techniques to preserve organs – has spurred House Speaker John Boehner<\/a> and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch<\/a> to call for investigations as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new video is as sickening, disturbing and callous as the last video,\u201d Boehner said. \u201cPresident Obama still has not denounced these horrific practices. He has a responsibility to also speak out immediately and stop these practices now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hatch noted, \u201cWhile this particular display of callous disregard for human life may shock us, it should come as no surprise amid a culture that does so little to protect those who are most vulnerable \u2014 the unborn.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
