So begins this week’s edition of Chris Cillizza’s weekly Washington Post column<\/a>, “Who had the worst week in Washington?” This week’s winner is Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n

Cillizza revisits this week’s undercover video scandal<\/a> and the quick action of lawmakers to launch investigations. He also notes\u00a0the lack of apology in Planned Parenthood’s “apology”:<\/p>\n

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, released a video<\/a> Thursday amid the hubbub, apologizing for the tone of the employee but defending her organization\u2019s practices. “This is unacceptable, and I personally apologize for the staff member\u2019s tone and statements,” Richards said. “The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And Cillizza says, Richards can say what she wants,\u00a0<\/a>but:<\/p>\n

No matter. A congressional investigation <\/a>had already been launched in response to the undercover video, ensuring that Planned Parenthood and its practices will be front and center in the days to come.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Even mainstream media outlets that sometimes ignore abortion stories have detailed this one. It’s so horrific even to pro-choicers that people are watching closely. That’s ironic because Planned Parenthood’s warning line to candidates is “Women are watching.” Well, Planned Parenthood, now America is watching.<\/p>\n

As Cillizza concludes his column, he says<\/a>, “Planned Parenthood, for being flip about aborted fetuses, you had the worst week in Washington. Congrats, or something.”<\/p>\n
