After the release of the video<\/a> of Planned Parenthood’s senior medical\u00a0director, Dr. Deborah\u00a0Nucatola, discussing harvesting baby parts, Planned Parenthood\u00a0made a statement<\/a> attempting to\u00a0spin the situation in their favor.\u00a0Their fan base jumped to their defense with articles and cringe-worthy statements. If you\u00a0haven’t heard their justifications, I’ll summarize.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1) No big deal; it’s just tissue<\/p>\n

Nucatola was quite\u00a0detailed in her discussion of the body parts of the babies she aborted. She mentions the\u00a0lungs, hearts and brains of these “specimens.” Her frankness isn’t really the issue \u2014 I understand that\u00a0someone in her profession would speak\u00a0with such candor.\u00a0However, her words give a\u00a0clear look\u00a0into the world of abortion.<\/p>\n

Don’t look behind that curtain, Dorothy.<\/p><\/div>\n

She’s not talking about “clumps of cells” or\u00a0just “tissue.” These are the body parts of a developed preborn child. Planned Parenthood seeks to draw your attention away from the names of the body parts you know so well. Don’t look behind that curtain, Dorothy. They can’t have the public\u00a0thinking too hard about babies\u00a0with\u00a0beating hearts. That\u00a0might get people\u00a0assuming those specimens could, dare we say, be people<\/em>.<\/p>\n

To safeguard themselves, Planned Parenthood uses the term\u00a0“tissue.” Planned Parenthood\u00a0is good at these word games. You say dismemberment, we say “choice.” You say destruction of life, we\u00a0say things\u00a0like “reproductive justice.” Their strategy is simple: keep the words palatable and\u00a0vague enough to cover the mess of it all.<\/p>\n

2) You’re just ‘grossed out’ because you don’t get medical lingo.<\/p>\n

This one is pretty insulting if you think about it. I get it; we’re not all doctors. Yet I can guess the majority of us weren’t disgusted\u00a0by the language alone. I was\u00a0disgusted\u00a0over the reality that the things she discusses are even\u00a0taking place. In the unedited version<\/a>, she speaks about incinerators to dispose of medical waste (fetuses) and I almost lost it. Sound familiar, history students?<\/p>\n

Amanda Marcotte<\/p><\/div>\n

Dr. Nucatola is\u00a0talking about pulling apart\u00a0cadavers, while in America, we’re still debating if a “fetus” is a person.\u00a0It’s sickening because it’s an eye opening look at evil. We’re not\u00a0just ‘grossed out’ by\u00a0medical terminology, we’re ‘grossed out’ by the abuse of the dignity of these preborn children. Sadly, liberal writer\u00a0Amanda Marcotte (pictured right) feels the need to remind us\u00a0that\u00a0being ‘grossed out’ over this is pretty lame. She writes<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Abortion is gross, no doubt about it. It becomes grosser the later in a pregnancy it gets. But so is heart surgery. So is child-birth, for that matter. We don’t deny people who need help in those cases because the help is gross. Nor should we deny people that help when it comes to needing abortion. We also shouldn’t deny women who want to donate fetal or embryonic remains to science any more than we would deny someone who wants to be an organ donor, even though the latter is also quite gross to ponder.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Thanks for clearing that up, Amanda. Dismembering a dead specimen and selling\u00a0its parts is ‘gross’ like\u00a0a life-saving heart surgery, or like someone delivering a baby? Funny that every mom I’ve ever asked about their delivery forgot to let me know how absolutely disgusting it was.\u00a0\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u00a0supporters like Marcotte play the video\u00a0off like it’s no big\u00a0deal\u00a0and\u00a0imply anyone\u00a0who thinks it’s disgusting\u00a0needs to grow up. ‘Come on. Every adult knows\u00a0abortion is kinda nasty, but since I’m sort of admitting that up front, can we just be cool with it and move on?’ \u00a0Short answer:\u00a0no.<\/p>\n

3) This is science, people… groundbreaking science that can save lives!<\/p>\n

“Get on the bus, children. Planned Parenthood wants to take you on a magic school ride. We are going to learn about\u00a0fetal remains and their benefit to our society!”<\/p>\n

In all seriousness, maybe twisted people think, “if Planned Parenthood’s efforts to crush fetal parts and sell them brings forth scientific breakthroughs, then count me in,”\u00a0but this is not a\u00a0legitimate form of research.\u00a0(We’ll just forget the fact that fetal cells have been used in soda flavoring<\/a> and pretend we believe this is all about\u00a0finding cures.)<\/p>\n

What Planned Parenthood calls “science” I call inhumane, illegal practices.\u00a0Not everything done in the name of science is moral. The truth is simple:\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u00a0is playing\u00a0the hero card so we will believe they donate\u00a0baby parts to save lives. Even if that is true, when did destroying lives in an attempt to save others become acceptable? Frankly, I’m not buying it, Planned Parenthood.
