There\u2019s a new rising star taking the fashion and modeling world by storm, and she\u2019s got a one in a million smile. Eighteen-year-old Madeline Stuart from Australia decided she wanted to be a model a year ago at a fashion show, and she wasn\u2019t about to let the fact that she has Down syndrome stop her. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, she achieved her goal when she signed a contract with Manifesta, a body-positive fitness brand.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Her mother, Rosanne Stuart, told The Today Show<\/a> that when she gave birth to her daughter, the hospital gave her plenty of pamphlets about Down syndrome, but none of them were positive. Stuart said she does not\u00a0want other parents of babies with Down syndrome to go through the same thing. Instead, she\u00a0wishes for them\u00a0to know that each person with Down syndrome is a gift.<\/p>\n

Rosanne Stuart said, “I don\u2019t want people to say, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m sorry\u2019 when I say I have a daughter with Down syndrome, I want people to say, \u2018Oh my God, she must be beautiful.\u2019”<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to do this, Rosanna\u00a0Stuart\u00a0set up a Facebook account to share positive stories and images about her daughter\u2019s life. Today, Madeline Stuart has over 388,000 Facebook fans, 41,000 Instagram followers, and another 2,000 followers on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Her natural modeling talents, commitment to achieving her goal, and her popularity on social media, led to an astounding seven offers from modeling agents around the world, including Germany, the United States, and South America. She\u00a0chose to work with Manifesta because she wants to show the world what true beauty is.<\/p>\n

On her website, Stuart says her goal is to \u201cChange the way people discriminate against disability through gaining attention through social media.\u201d She calls Down syndrome a \u201cblessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople with Down syndrome can do anything, they just do it at their own pace,\u201d Rosanne Stuart told the Daily Mail<\/a> Australia. \u201cGive them a chance and you will be rewarded beyond your greatest expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that Stuart has made huge strides in her fitness goals, and signed a modeling contract, she is telling others to follow their dreams.<\/p>\n
