In 2014, four companies were\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rhrealitycheck.org\/article\/2014\/06\/05\/companies-speak-twitter-censoring-condom-sexual-health-info-ads\/\">barred<\/a>\u00a0from advertising on Twitter because their ads discussed sexual health issues.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Two of those were condom companies, one was an \u201conline birth control support network,\u201d and the other was an STD education organization.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8230;[T]he Carafem staff thinks it\u2019s odd that the ads were considered too \u201cadult\u201d and rejected.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur advertising is not flippant or outlandish. The only thing that\u2019s innovative is the way we\u2019re talking about abortion,\u201d [Carafem vice president Melissa Grant]\u00a0said. \u201cWe\u2019re afraid to speak outwardly that abortion is a service, the way we talk about mammograms or whatever else. By its non-discussion, it\u2019s called out as different. Abortion is not something to be embarrassed about.
