Over 25,000 pro-lifers gathered in Dublin this weekend for the All-Ireland Rally for Life, according to<\/a> Life News, while Breitbart reports<\/a> that pro-abortion counter-protestors attempted to crash the event with obscene chants and gestures.<\/p>\n

Organized by Precious Life, Youth Defence, [sic] and the Life Institute, the rally is the country\u2019s top annual pro-life event, akin to the United States\u2019 March for Life. The Life Institute\u2019s Niamh U\u00ed Bhriain said, \u201cand a lot of that focus will be on Election 2016 and on ensuring that politicians understand that the majority of people do not want abortion on demand legalised [sic] in Ireland.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Another particular emphasis of this year\u2019s event was \u201cthat Ireland should continue to protect the right to life of unborn children with disabilities,\u201d according to Youth Defence\u2019s Claire Molloy.<\/p>\n

Among the pro-abortion incivility reported by Breitbart were chants including \u201cPro-life, that\u2019s a lie, you don\u2019t care if women die\u201d and \u201cAnti-women, anti-gay, pro-life bigots go away,\u201d signs reading \u201cF*** YOU! I\u2019M PRO-CHOICE,\u201d raised middle fingers, and even blowing a tin whistle in a pro-life woman\u2019s ear.<\/p>\n

Pro-aborts also hacked the Youth Defence website to display a pro-abortion message and tweeted that tolerating pro-lifers was \u201clike calling for tolerance of the KKK or ISIS.\u201d<\/p>\n

Such behavior was \u201cnot a minority of the pro aborts,\u201d said photographer Stephen McElligott, who covered the event. \u201cThese kind of insulting signs filled the sidewalk all the way down O\u2019Connell Street.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
