The Arizona Health Director is calling for the legal challenge against the state\u2019s abortion pill reversal law, which requires abortionists to inform their patients of the possibility of reversing medical abortions before taking the second abortion pill, to be dismissed and for enforcement of the law to begin, the East Valley Tribune reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cara Christ and the attorney representing her, Douglas Drury, are arguing to Judge Steven Logan that the case should be thrown out because \u201cPlaintiffs and their patients have not suffered any injury in fact,\u201d leaving no grounds for a suit. The state Attorney General\u2019s office, representing the state medical board, agrees.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Live Action News has previously reported<\/a> that abortion defenders challenge the law on the claim that medication abortion reversal is \u201cjunk science,\u201d though several successful attempts have been documented. The case was last set to be heard one or two months from now.<\/p>\n

Andrew Beck of the pro-abortion American Civil Liberties Union, which is involved in challenging the law, contends the \u201claw is clear that you don’t have to engage in an act of civil disobedience in order to have either standing or a ripe case\u2026. The fact that you’re being compelled to act in an unconstitutional way is enough to allow you to challenge the statute.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the pro-life Center for Arizona Policy\u2019s legal counsel Josh Kredit, the successful birth of over 100 babies following abortion pill reversal is sufficient evidence to declare the law medically sound.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
