Tressa Middleton didn\u2019t grow up in a stable home. Her mother was homeless, and because of that, Middleton and her brother, Jason, were split up into foster care.<\/p>\n

After a year, the family was reunited; however, Middleton began drinking around age eight, and spent time\u00a0with people in their 20s. When that was discovered, she was once again taken from her mother, however, it wasn\u2019t long until she was placed back into her care.<\/p>\n

Middleton\u00a0told the Daily Mail<\/a> that in 2005, at the age of 11, her 16-year-old brother took her to a building site where they used to ride their bikes. It was there that he raped her. A few months later, as her body was changing, a friend suggested that she might be pregnant. They got their hands on a pregnancy test, which came out positive.<\/p>\n

Her mother was upset at the news, but Middleton didn\u2019t tell her the whole truth. She kept the rape and the identity of the baby’s\u00a0father a secret. He was the only one who knew the truth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never thought about terminating,\u201d said Middleton. \u201cI didn\u2019t believe in abortion, even at that age.\u201d<\/p>\n

After her daughter Annie was born, Middleton became addicted to drugs and alcohol, and she placed her\u00a0daughter up\u00a0for adoption.<\/p>\n

\u201cLater I was really drunk, and I was at my friend\u2019s house and I just broke down and told her that Jason was Annie\u2019s dad. She thought I was lying at first,\u201d said Middleton.<\/p>\n

Once the truth about the rape was out, her brother\u00a0was arrested. A DNA test proved he was the father, and he was sent to jail for four years.<\/p>\n

Now age 21, Middleton is speaking out in hopes of helping other victims.\u00a0 She has written a book\u00a0titled, “Tressa: The 12-Year-Old Mum,” which she dedicated to Annie.<\/p>\n

She told the television show This Morning:<\/p>\n

I just hope one day she [Annie] does forgive me. I know it\u2019s going to be hard for her when she finds out her uncle is actually her dad. I hope she doesn\u2019t blame me for not telling people what actually happened when it happened and for drinking and going off the rails. I hope she understands. I\u2019ll leave it up to her but I hope she does forgive me.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the book\u2019s dedication, Middleton tells Annie that she \u201cis the beating pulse of life\u201d and that she still keeps her baby clothes. She writes: “For now, I want you to know that I love you, and I always will.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
