Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, is often hailed as a champion of women\u2019s rights in historical texts and classes.\u00a0 However, chronically neglected is her true disdain for minority groups in America and\u00a0how she saw birth control as a way of limiting the populations of those she deemed unworthy\u00a0of bearing children, even going so far as to advocate that married couples must submit applications in order to\u00a0have children!<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger<\/p><\/div>\n

Sanger\u00a0published articles in her\u00a0newsletter, the\u00a0“Birth Control Review,” that\u00a0depicted\u00a0her\u00a0opinions that certain\u00a0groups of people should have\u00a0\u201cnever should have been born<\/a>\u201d and\u00a0 that birth control was intended to \u201ccreate a race of thoroughbreds<\/a>,\u201d and ensure that society had \u201cmore children from the fit, less from the unfit<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eugenics-advocate groups like the American Eugenics Society, of which Sanger was a listed member until 1956, suggested that the government should consider putting birth control chemicals in the food and water supplies<\/a> in certain areas of the nation, specifically in urban areas\u00a0that were dominated by minority groups.\u00a0 Sanger even suggested imposing a law that would disallow women from having children without first obtaining a permit from the government\u2014a permit that would good for only one baby\u2014and if approved, the couple would receive an antidote to counter the effects of the involuntarily ingested birth control chemicals.<\/p>\n

The Planned Parenthood founder\u00a0made her\u00a0views\u00a0even more blatantly obvious in a letter she wrote <\/a>to a woman named Katherine Dexter McCormick in 1950, saying\u00a0she thought that “…there should be national sterilization for certain dysgenic types of our population who are being encouraged to breed and would die out were the government not feeding them.”\u00a0 McCormick was very wealthy and she later went on to assist\u00a0Sanger in\u00a0developing and funding the birth control pill.<\/p>\n

That’s funny,\u00a0because Planned Parenthood never mentions any of these views upon which they were founded in 1942.\u00a0 Although they honor Margaret Sanger annually (with the \u201cMaggie Award\u201d), they conveniently pick and choose which of her values to publicly celebrate and which to sweep under the rug.\u00a0\u00a0They would never consider condemning the twisted ideologies of this woman.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0Sanger’s opinions are still apparent today in Planned Parenthood, and the true intention of birth control\u00a0is still deliberately\u00a0hidden under the guise of \u201cwomen\u2019s liberation.\u201d\u00a0 Their most recent epitome of this was portrayed when Planned Parenthood built\u00a0the largest abortion facility in the western hemisphere in the center of four heavily minority areas; they blatantly showed that they still to this day target minority groups and continue to play out Sanger’s intentions for the organization.<\/p>\n
