Fearing the worst, Torres and her boyfriend, Fernando Viera, rushed to the ER. Because he was born extremely premature, doctors were unable to do anything to save him.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_62616\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62616\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-62616 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Torres-and-Savier-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Torres with baby Savier.\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Torres-and-Savier-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Torres-and-Savier-700x525.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Torres-and-Savier.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-62616\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torres with baby Savier.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Devastated, Torres and Viera took photos of their son, and even recorded a video\u00a0of him. The powerful recording shows the humanity of baby Savier, as\u00a0he kicks his legs while\u00a0his mother cradles him. The parents spent time holding him and loving him\u00a0before he passed away.<\/p>\n<p>The following day, Torres\u00a0shared her heartbreaking story on\u00a0Facebook, asking for prayers. She wrote:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod give me the strength [\u2026]This agony is killing me. I can&#8217;t stop cryin.\u00a0I\u00a0feel so weak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doctors informed Torres that she will need a cervical stitch when she becomes pregnant again. This will\u00a0keep her cervix closed so that the same incident\u00a0with Savier will not occur again.<\/p>\n<p>The days following the loss of\u00a0her son, Torres continued to share her emotions. She wrote about how difficult\u00a0it is to wake up in the morning,\u00a0remembering that her son is gone and that she is no longer pregnant. Torres wrote\u00a0about how happy she was to give her 10-year-old daughter, Sashalie, the sibling she had always wanted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love you with all my heart,\u201d\u00a0Torres\u00a0wrote\u00a0to Savier, telling him to rest in God\u2019s arms.<\/p>\n<p>Savier was not only deeply loved, but he was alive during his short time outside of the womb. At less than 20 weeks gestation, he was a human being worthy and deserving of life. His beautiful face shows us just how precious he and all preborn children are.<\/p>\n<p>Torres says she knows Savier is watching over her, and she feels that he wants her to smile and be happy.
