March 6 marked the three year anniversary of my time as a contributor for Live Action News.\u00a0As I look back, I can see that I have truly come a long way.<\/p>\n

I have had few\u00a0constants in my life as my time here with Live Action News, and I would like to reflect on that.<\/p>\n

My personal life lessons as a writer could be applied to other positions, but I do want to focus on a pro-life perspective.<\/p>\n

Here are just a few things I’ve learned during my time as a contributor, and more importantly, why I keep writing.<\/p>\n

You never know just how much you may mean to others.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This may seem like both a positive and a negative, but I think it’s the beauty about being involved in the pro-life movement. Someone may read your piece and the stage may be set for his or her conversion to the movement. It may cause them to think; it may make their day. All are worthwhile reasons to write, even if you don’t know how people are impacted.<\/p>\n

We all have our unique talents and gifts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ve been truly blessed in my writing. I\u00a0feel it’s what I’ve been called to do.\u00a0I have immense respect for those out in the field, doing sidewalk counseling, for instance. But I’ve realized there is no need to compare that calling as being superior or inferior to mine, as we all have our part to play.<\/p>\n

Education is important!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have always been pro-life. It wasn’t until I got to college, however, that I really found out\u00a0how much abortion damages women. The\u00a0more I learned, the more I felt affirmed in regarding abortion as a true evil. As advocates for our most basic human right, it is our responsibility to educate society. It\u00a0is imperative to make sure that what we communicate to people is accurate.<\/p>\n

There are opponents out there.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The abortion debate draws out all kinds of people. Our\u00a0opponents like to paint\u00a0<\/a>us<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>as the extremists. To take the viewpoint of advocating for the murder <\/a>of preborn children, and even performing it\u00a0up until birth,\u00a0for any reason,<\/a> is what’s really extreme though. There are some who even advocate for abortion after<\/a> birth<\/a>, or in cases when the child\u00a0is born alive<\/a> as a result of a botched abortion<\/a>. Pro-abortion antagonism comes in\u00a0all forms – from organizations<\/a>, politicians<\/a>,\u00a0 media<\/a> sites,<\/a> contributors, <\/a>and individual who comment on articles. But you can’t let them get you down.<\/p>\n

Politics and faith can have their place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am proudly pro-life without exception, as well as Republican and Catholic. I choose to combine politics and faith with my pro-life identity. I especially think it is most productive and helpful to achieve\u00a0pro-life successes from a political level. I have also learned that we don’t always need to discuss faith and politics. There are instances where such conversation have their place, and other times when they do not.<\/p>\n

To sum it up:\u00a0<\/strong>It’s not always easy to be pro-life, but it is worth it!<\/a> We have truth, love, and life on our side. It’s really a passion and a calling in life to stick with. I am so glad that I chose to answer my calling to write to promote life. I look forward to seeing what the future brings me as I work to communicate the pro-life message to all I can.
