You\u2019re going to want to stress that abortion is essential for women to participate freely and equally in society, that surgery is necessary to be equal.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Third, paint parenthood as feasible only for people who are completely ready \u2014 financially, emotionally, career-wise \u2014 for all that it will demand. Children need to come precisely when we are ready for them; otherwise, off with their heads. Literally.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth, call those who disagree with you patriarchal sexist pigs to demonstrate your feminist cred. It\u2019s like showing your ID to get into a bar. And you\u2019ll need to disregard the fact increasingly evidenced that abortion serves a new patriarchy, as deadbeat lovers, rapists, and sex-traffickers get in line to benefit from abortion\u2019s promise.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth, employ the \u201cmedical model\u201d to harness the authority of doctors to legitimize abortion. Repeat after me: \u201creproductive health.\u201d Every chance you get. You\u2019re going to have to make this your go-to reply on every occasion when abortion is mentioned. Never mind the numerous\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/afterabortion.org\/1999\/abortion-risks-a-list-of-major-physical-complications-related-to-abortion\/\">studies<\/a> showing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.livestrong.com\/article\/142565-complications-after-abortions\/\">abortion\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionfacts.com\/reardon\/the-after-effects-of-abortion\">harmful <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.deveber.org\/complications\">complications<\/a>; you\u2019re going to want to maintain the mantras \u201creproductive rights\u201d and \u201creproductive freedom\u201d nonstop.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth \u2014 and this is important \u2014 you must stress the fact that a woman must choose, and then be clear in offering her only one option. Stress the loss a woman might experience if she decides to have her child and place him or her up for adoption, but fail to mention the profound sense of regret that can occur when her offspring is aborted rather than placed with a loving family. She needs to wise up and make a choice; abortion promises her only chance.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, if you&#8217;ve had an abortion, you need to believe that being a woman is all about having the right to \u201ccontrol my body\u201d even when it\u2019s not your body you are controlling. Even if you have no idea how taking the life of your offspring empowers you as a woman, you need to celebrate abortion\u2019s promise.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been an ultra-feminist, so I feel for you, but I&#8217;ve also researched <a href=\"http:\/\/www.life.org.nz\/abortion\/abortionkeyissues\/impact-on-society-abortion\/\">abortion&#8217;s effects on society<\/a> and heard the <a href=\"http:\/\/ireport.cnn.com\/topics\/921603\">voices of women who&#8217;ve aborted <\/a>their children.
