In 2014, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2014\/12\/29\/73-abortion-facilities-shut-down-in-2014-75-of-abortion-clinics-closed-since-1991\/\">73 abortion clinics<\/a> closed their doors. New abortion laws enacted over the last few years, including ultrasound laws, hospital admitting privileges, and limits on how late into pregnancy abortions can occur, have shuttered clinics and saved countless lives. In addition,\u00a0Republicans won 11 legislative chambers held by Democrats in 2014 &#8211; and that has abortion advocates scared of what\u2019s to come in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Mother Jones is predicting that the abortion battle will \u201cget a lot uglier,\u201d in its list of pro-life bills that have been filed in nine states. These include banning physicians from performing \u201cSkype\u201d abortions, also known as \u201ctelemedicine,&#8221; in which the abortionist and the woman meet via webcam. In addition, there\u2019s the hope of a 20-week abortion ban in Wisconsin, mandatory parental consent for abortions in Missouri, and a sex-selective abortion ban in Texas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Think Progress, another pro-abortion website, says pro-life laws are \u201cexpected to get even worse\u201d in 2015. Elizabeth Nash, who tracks state-level abortion policy for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/\">Guttmacher Institute<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/health\/2014\/12\/10\/3601930\/abortion-laws-tighten-2015\/\">told ThinkProgress<\/a> that she believes that \u201creproductive rights\u2019 advocates jobs have gotten harder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Mother Jones and Think Progress, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/cecile-richards\/womens-health-care-under_b_6297610.html\">Huffington Post<\/a> and Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, teamed up to warn readers of the predicted abundance of pro-life laws in 2015 with an \u201calarming sneak peek.\u201d Richards is worried about new bills that threaten to ban abortion at six weeks in Ohio and South Carolina, as well as the possibility of even more restrictions on abortion in Texas. She notes although it seemed like it couldn&#8217;t get any worse for the abortion industry, it mostly likely can in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-abortion groups are really feeling the pressure and realizing that the right-to-life movement is gaining momentum and gearing up to outlaw abortion for good. According to the pro-life group <a href=\"\/news\/75-percent-of-surgical-abortion-mills-close\/#more-57724\">Operation Rescue<\/a>, over the last two decades, surgical abortion facilities have dropped from 2,176 to 551. That\u2019s 75 percent.
