Now the star is getting heat for lying about her alleged rape experience. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCBmLjiIp3KQls0ik7W_2dqA\">Daniel Dalton<\/a> explains:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O1Bi8-NI6Os?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dunham, who is a <a href=\"http:\/\/marketplace.plannedparenthood.org\/actionboutique\/women-are-watching\/special-celebrity-signature-edition-women-are-watching-t-shirt-designed-by-lena-dunham-unisex.html\">spokesperson for Planned Parenthood<\/a>, was interviewed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h10fNacHypE\">Howard Stern Show<\/a> when her book was released. On the show (before her rape story was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-hollywood\/2014\/12\/03\/investigation-lena-dunhams-republican-rapist-story-falls-apart-under-scrutiny\/\">thoroughly debunked<\/a>), Dunham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h10fNacHypE\">makes the statement,<\/a> &#8220;There was a big part of me that thought people would say, &#8216;You&#8217;re lying&#8217; [about being raped].&#8221; Far from safeguarding her story from that kind of backlash, however, Lena strangely opted to actually\u00a0<em>lie<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>When the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/northamerica\/usa\/11234223\/Bill-Cosbys-reputation-in-tatters-as-rape-allegations-return-to-haunt-Americas-Dad.html\">reputations of the accused<\/a> and the integrity of victims hang in the balance, journalists and media outlets have a poignant obligation to fact-check. Daniel Dalton spoke to Live Action about the failure of the mainstream media to share stories that will help to improve the situations of America&#8217;s most vulnerable groups:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The media has blinders when it comes to rape and abortion, and it&#8217;s because they have an agenda themselves. For example, our country is increasingly pro-life according to almost any poll you look at, but you would never know it based on what the media reports. Their biased agenda\u00a0has seeped into our news. Whether it&#8217;s commentary or the stories covered, the broader agenda of media is vehemently against the pro-life, pro-woman movement. We need to recognize this so we can respond appropriately. I&#8217;m so glad that organizations like Live Action News are bringing the fight online and bypassing traditional media channels.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rape is a very real issue with which society must grapple honestly if justice is to be\u00a0afforded to victims. There is no room, in the epidemic of rape culture, for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/publisher-alter-lena-dunham-book-755193\">skirting details<\/a> and publishing stories without due diligence\u00a0(as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C53aSufU02I\">this <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> journalist<\/a> did with the <a href=\"\/news\/dear-uva-protestors-if-youre-looking-for-enablers-of-rape-go-to-planned-parenthood\/\">UVA rape story<\/a>).
