The video was released in 2011, but until <a href=\"http:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/2014\/11\/24\/i-will-never-understand-planned-parenthood-or-their-supporters\/\">Saysumthn&#8217;s Blog<\/a> brought it to the fore this week, the video languished in obscurity with very few views&#8230; and we can see why. This isn&#8217;t the first of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-hudson-peconic\">Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic<\/a>&#8216;s super creepy and awkward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/PPHP4\">videos<\/a>, either. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Vmpy3Oc4c5c&amp;list=UUxG_0O0jIhCLH7yiyqX4itw\">This video<\/a>, for example,\u00a0shows young girls\u00a0how the very existence of condoms will make their desire <em>not<\/em> to have\u00a0sex magically disappear. Because that&#8217;s basically the only way you could be the only source of family planning for <em>any<\/em> woman in the United States. Almost every grocery store, drug store, and gas station sells condoms.\u00a0Also,\u00a0family planning that involves <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fertilitycare.org\/\">abstinence only on days of fertility<\/a> is as effective as the Pill (and women who practice it don&#8217;t even need a drug store, much less a Planned Parenthood).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56305\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP2-300x118.png\" alt=\"PP2\" width=\"300\" height=\"118\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP2-300x118.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP2-700x275.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP2.png 966w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>It should not be news to anyone, but Planned Parenthood does not treat HIV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP3-300x111.png\" alt=\"PP3\" width=\"300\" height=\"111\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP3-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP3-700x259.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP3.png 974w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Another piece of misinformation. Planned Parenthood&#8217;s method of\u00a0breaking down\u00a0their \u201cservices\u201d is very clever. For example: An abortion is a \u201cservice.\u201d And so is one condom. So if you have an abortion and receive five condoms and a pack of pills when you walk out the door, Planned Parenthood records that <a href=\"\/news\/the-numbers-planned-parenthood-doesnt-want-you-to-know\/\">they provided you with seven \u201cservices.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 This is how Planned Parenthood is able to claim that 90% of their services are preventive (furthermore, it&#8217;s arguable that their &#8220;preventive&#8221; services <a href=\"http:\/\/studentsforlife.org\/plannedparenthood\/\">don&#8217;t do much preventing<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; see the lowest-ranked condoms on this <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20060524001758\/http:\/\/www.consumerreports.org\/cro\/health-fitness\/health-care\/condoms-and-contraception-205\/ratings\/index.htm\">Consumer Reports list<\/a>). In reality, Planned Parenthood revenue is <a href=\"\/news\/the-numbers-planned-parenthood-doesnt-want-you-to-know\/\">driven by abortion<\/a>, which is in no way \u201cpreventive\u201d care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP4-300x128.png\" alt=\"PP4\" width=\"300\" height=\"128\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP4-300x128.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP4-700x300.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP4.png 944w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood <b>ends <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/planned-parenthoods-new-annual-report-we-did-333964-abortions-1-every-94-seconds\">more than 330,000 lives<\/a>\u00a0each year in abortion. Don&#8217;t be fooled by Planned Parenthood&#8217;s misleading logic that their birth control business lowers the rate of unplanned pregnancy. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physiciansforlife.org\/content\/view\/778\/36\/\">It doesn&#8217;t<\/a>, as evidenced by the fact that a majority of women who come to Planned Parenthood with unintended pregnancies were on birth control when conception occurred.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56308\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP6-300x188.png\" alt=\"PP6\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP6-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP6-700x440.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/PP6.png 817w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>The only way a woman could lose access to the type of breast exams Planned Parenthood provides is if she lost her own hands. Because manually feeling for lumps <a href=\"\/news\/women-dont-need-planned-parenthood-for-breast-exams\/\">is all PP can do for you<\/a> \u2013 and that&#8217;s something women can (and should) do for themselves\u00a0at least once a month.
