Here’s a common objection to\u00a0adoption: “Adoption isn’t a reasonable alternative to pregnancy! Adoption doesn’t make a woman un-pregnant!”<\/p>\n

Of course, only one thing is a real alternative to being pregnant: being “un-pregnant”. If\u00a0you’re not ready to be pregnant,\u00a0it’s good to make your\u00a0choice\u00a0before\u00a0<\/em>you’re pregnant – either by abstaining from sex or by using contraception<\/a> that doesn’t end the life of a baby by stopping her implantation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But still, many\u00a0women get pregnant before they think they’re\u00a0“ready.” Often, they want to consider their options.<\/p>\n

There are only two: #1 stay pregnant, #2 make yourself un-pregnant.<\/p>\n

It’s pretty obvious how #1\u00a0is accomplished. But let’s be honest with ourselves about #2.\u00a0A woman doesn’t magically become un-pregnant.<\/p>\n

Here’s the definition of pregnancy<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Pregnancy is the development of…an embryo or fetus, in a woman’s uterus. It is the common name for gestation in humans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“Gestation<\/a>” is:<\/p>\n

[T]he process of carrying or being carried in the womb between conception and birth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And what – or really, who – is “being carried in the womb”? Well, not a rock<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Common sense says\u00a0that, when a woman is pregnant, she must consider the life of her baby before she makes any decision.\u00a0A baby exists –\u00a0her<\/em> baby. Based on her choices, that baby will either live or die. There is no third option.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0one<\/em> baby with this\u00a0one<\/em> mother has\u00a0one<\/em> chance. This baby’s mother will either choose to allow this baby to be born or to have this baby killed. It doesn’t get more simple – or heartbreaking – than that.<\/p>\n

And this baby, if she’s killed, isn’t coming back to this mother one day in the future. This is their\u00a0one chance<\/em> to be together on Earth.<\/p>\n

So, we see that the argument of “adoption isn’t an alternative to pregnancy” is really a red herring. Of course adoption doesn’t make a woman\u00a0immediately un-pregnant, any more than giving birth does.<\/p>\n

Choices for life take their natural time. (And at the end of those nine months, she will indeed be un-pregnant once more.) From experience, I know that these nine months are some of the most precious.\u00a0Nine beautiful months of a new, one-of-a-kind, tiny human being developing, growing, and being nurtured and protected\u00a0inside of me<\/em>. Could anything be more of a miracle?<\/p>\n

So let’s look at the alternative. If a woman wanted\u00a0to be un-pregnant\u00a0right now,\u00a0<\/em>what\u00a0is<\/em> her option? Abortion is the name we give it, but what are the facts behind it?<\/p>\n

Doctors who perform abortions explain<\/a>:<\/p>\n

[T]ypically when the abortion procedure is started we typically know that the fetus is still alive because either we can feel it move as we\u2019re making our initial grasps or if we\u2019re using some ultrasound visualization when we actually see a heartbeat as we\u2019re starting the procedure.<\/p>\n

You can see a miniature person\u2026 as a physician\u2026 I am destroying life.<\/p>\n

I have taken the lives of innocent babies and I have ripped them from their mother\u2019s wombs with a powerful suction machine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Suction abortion is the most common kind performed. Anyone considering it absolutely needs to\u00a0read this description<\/a> by a former employee of Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n

D&E’s<\/a> are performed in the second trimester:<\/p>\n

The abortionist then both tears and cuts the fetus and uses the vacuum machine to extract its remains. Because the skull is too large to be suctioned through the tube, it must be crushed by forceps for removal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Is any of that reasonable? Is any of that a real alternative to pregnancy; a real option?<\/p>\n

Since when have we believed that literally butchering and slicing up our own babies is a consideration, an option, a reasonable suggestion?<\/p>\n

\"everyMaybe adoption isn’t technically an “alternative to pregnancy,” but the alternative these people are proposing is literally a bloody, violent nightmare.<\/p>\n

Adoption is absolutely<\/em> an alternative to parenting a child, and it is also a real alternative to abortion<\/a>. When all the facts are considered, abortion never needs to be chosen. If I could, I’d help all women see what a powerful<\/a>, loving<\/a>, and informed<\/a> choice adoption<\/a> can be. It’s so different than so many have been told.<\/p>\n
