Of course, we can talk to them directly about the value of every life, explain things, and answer questions. One day we\u2019ll have to explain exactly what abortion is to them.<\/p>\n<p>But, there are also ways to reinforce pro-life values as we\u2019re living everyday life. For instance, when a baby cries at the store, children are often naturally concerned \u2013 not annoyed like many adults are. Encourage that concern and tell children how important it is to care for everyone, especially when they\u2019re helpless like those little babies. Love and compassion for others should always trump our selfish feelings.<\/p>\n<p>Storytime is another prime opportunity to instill pro-life values in our children. In general, it\u2019s important to be selective about which books we choose to read to our little ones. And with a little effort, we can find excellent stories that teach why every life matters.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Here are some pro-life values to look for in children\u2019s books. It\u2019s important to point out these values in the book and find fun ways to emphasize them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every life counts.<\/li>\n<li>Every person is important \u2013 even if they\u2019re small, untalented, or needy.<\/li>\n<li>Stop to help others.<\/li>\n<li>A person\u2019s value isn\u2019t based on what she can give to me.<\/li>\n<li>Life isn\u2019t all about me.<\/li>\n<li>Family is important \u2013 every member has a place.<\/li>\n<li>Children are a gift.<\/li>\n<li>Unselfishness, compassion, and justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are a few children\u2019s books that can help teach pro-life values to children:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>God Gave Us You<\/em> by Lisa Tawn Bergren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen we found out you were growing inside me, we were so happy! Even the angels were celebrating for us!\u201d \u201cBecause of me?\u201d asked Little Cub. \u201cYes, my darling child. But someone always helped me get back, and now I\u2019ll help you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Yes We Can!<\/em> by Sam McBratney<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This book talks about valuing everyone for their own individuality instead of focusing on how you\u2019re better than them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Horton Hears a Who!<\/em> by Dr. Seuss<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ll just have to save him.
