As stalwart pro-lifer Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2014\/09\/16\/obamacare-abortions-taxpayer-funds\/\">summarizes<\/a> it:\u00a0&#8220;The [Government Accountability Office] has found ObamaCare massively funds abortion on demand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With this revelation, Obama&#8217;s promises that the insurance programs designed for the Affordable Care Act\u00a0<strong>would not <\/strong>utilize federal tax funding to pay for abortions have been turned on their head. \u00a0The report states that, according to the Act as it is currently written, federal tax funds may not be used to cover &#8220;non-excepted abortion services,&#8221; which means that\u00a0<em>only\u00a0<\/em>abortions sought by women who are pregnant as a result of\u00a0rape or incest, or whose health is allegedly endangered by continuance of the pregnancy, are allowed to receive income-based tax credits and subsidies to cover their abortion costs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_33784\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33784\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-33784 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/OBAMA-CECILE-RICHARDS-AP-CROPPED-300x194.jpg\" alt=\"Obama embraces the president of Planned Parenthood, which kills over 300,000 American babies in abortion every single year.\" width=\"300\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/OBAMA-CECILE-RICHARDS-AP-CROPPED-300x194.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/OBAMA-CECILE-RICHARDS-AP-CROPPED.jpg 367w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-33784\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Obama warmly embraces the president of Planned Parenthood, an organization that kills over 300,000 American babies in abortion every single year and receives over\u00a0$1 million in taxpayer funding every day.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An individual state has the freedom to allocate state tax money towards\u00a0abortion within their own state&#8217;s Obamacare insurance exchange. But insurance companies are\u00a0<em>not<\/em> free to subsidize abortions with <strong>federal<\/strong> tax funding.<em>\u00a0<\/em>However, today&#8217;s watchdog report indicates that this provision protecting federal funding has been ignored by insurance exchange companies across the country.<\/p>\n<p>And the numbers are no small matter: <strong>over one thousand\u00a0<\/strong>insurance exchanges are guilty of this misuse of tax funding. Speaker John Boehner noted that the Obama Administration repeatedly\u00a0<em>denied\u00a0<\/em>congressional requests that this information be made public.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement by Alliance Defending Freedom,\u00a0Senior Counsel\u00a0Casey Mattox confirms that this report is no surprise in light of the unethical nature of Obamacare in general:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;Obamacare was designed to force Americans to pay for abortions. Federal law protects Americans from paying for others\u2019 abortions, but Obamacare architects built a purposely deceptive accounting scheme into the massive law that makes people in all 50 states fund abortion. We were told that we had to pass the bill to find out what was in it. Now we know one other thing that\u2019s in it: corporate welfare for the administration\u2019s abortion industry cronies.
