In New York City, there are a number of abortion clinics competing to catch the eyes of abortion minded women. One of these clinics is Early Options.<\/a> Their tagline reads \u201cEarly Abortion & Miscarriage: a Revolutionary Medical Practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

When a woman goes to a clinic to end her pregnancy and kill her unborn baby, it\u2019s \u00a0not really called a \u201cmiscarriage,\u201d but since the word \u201cabortion\u201d still carries \u00a0stigma, redefining the word \u201cmiscarriage\u201d for their patients is apparently something this abortion clinic is happy to do.<\/p>\n

This clinic has apparently pioneered an abortion method called the \u201cSoftTouch.\u201d According to the site:<\/p>\n

SofTouch\u00ae is the safest, most noninvasive method. The doctor simply inserts a soft flexible tube through the natural opening of your cervix, and applies gentle pressure. This quietly \u201creleases\u201d your late period and induces a miscarriage. Because it is a natural release there is immediate recovery and you can rest assured that when you are ready, you can become pregnant again.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The clinic\u2019s website does not say what is actually providing this “gentle pressure.” Perhaps it is a hand-held pump syringe. Either way, they are advertising these abortions as \u201cnatural\u201d and \u201cgentle.\u201d But are they really natural and gentle to the baby?<\/p>\n

The clinic instructs prospective patients to:<\/p>\n

Let go of your worries, and let us care for you. You will leave feeling supported and confident\u00a0that you can get pregnant when the time is right.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They say:<\/p>\n

We have spent over 15 years developing our approach to patient care. It is transformative to be\u00a0in an environment that is welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental. You will not feel like you\u00a0are in a traditional \u201cclinic\u201d but in a truly therapeutic and warm doctor\u2019s office. A companion is\u00a0welcome to be by your side.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On another page<\/a>\u00a0Early Options describes an abortion at seven weeks. They\u2019ve even included a nice little picture for us:<\/p>\n

The text next to the picture says:<\/p>\n

Ending early pregnancy doesn\u2019t need to be any more complicated than getting your yearly pap test.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have an early pregnancy if you have only missed one or two periods. At this stage, it\u2019s more like having a miscarriage. It\u2019s comforting to know that you\u2019re ending the pregnancy before you would even know if it may be viable. An early pregnancy consists of tissue similar to your menstrual tissue and a \u201cbubble\u201d of fluid, called the gestational sac. The pregnancy itself is invisible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Seven weeks. An empty sac. A pregnancy that is \u201ctissue similar to menstrual tissue.\u201d Nice and easy. Right?<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, this is not the reality.<\/p>\n
