Over the picture of Viagra was stamped the word &#8220;Covered.&#8221; Over the picture of the pack of birth control pills were stamped the words, &#8220;Not covered.&#8221; Why does this matter? Because it&#8217;s a lie that many pro-abortion advocates believe, and are spreading throughout social media with abandon.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><script>\/\/ <![CDATA[\n(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = \"\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_GB\/all.js#xfbml=1\"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/naralprochoiceamerica\/photos\/a.146691269320.105115.80562389320\/10152520800174321\/?type=1\" data-width=\"466\">\n<div class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/naralprochoiceamerica\/photos\/a.146691269320.105115.80562389320\/10152520800174321\/?type=1\">Post<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/naralprochoiceamerica\">NARAL Pro-Choice America<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>So let&#8217;s set the record straight: Today&#8217;s SCOTUS ruling did NOT ban low-dose hormonal contraceptives (although a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abort73.com\/abortion_facts\/which_birth_control_methods_cause_abortion\/\">strong case<\/a> can be made for the abortifacient qualities of those). The ruling did NOT ban any normal form of contraception. Today&#8217;s ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby simply exempted the company, and others with similar objections, to covering\u00a0<strong>abortion-causing<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>drugs and devices<\/strong>. These are so-called &#8220;emergency contraceptives,&#8221; and they&#8217;re normally used after unprotected sex to prevent a pregnancy from occurring, or expel one that has begun. Specifically, the Hobby Lobby case dealt with four: <em>Ella<\/em>, Plan B, and two IUDs. (By the way, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?site=&amp;tbm=isch&amp;source=hp&amp;biw=1366&amp;bih=624&amp;q=ella&amp;oq=ella&amp;gs_l=img.3..0l10.647.1180.0.1282.4.4.0.0.0.0.79.311.4.4.0....0...1ac.1.48.img..0.4.309.JuPknWFM0J0&amp;gws_rd=ssl#q=plan+b+pill&amp;tbm=isch\">this <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?site=&amp;tbm=isch&amp;source=hp&amp;biw=1366&amp;bih=624&amp;q=ella&amp;oq=ella&amp;gs_l=img.3..0l10.647.1180.0.1282.4.4.0.0.0.0.79.311.4.4.0....0...1ac.1.48.img..0.4.309.JuPknWFM0J0&amp;gws_rd=ssl#q=ella+pill&amp;tbm=isch\">this<\/a> are what the two drugs in question look like.)<\/p>\n<p>These four drugs and devices &#8212; which <a href=\"http:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2014\/06\/supreme-court-hobby-lobby-decision\">even the pro-abortion\u00a0<em>Mother Jones<\/em> cites<\/a> &#8212; are all capable of\u00a0<em><a href=\"\/news\/video-the-simple-science-behind-hobby-lobbys-fight-against-free-emergency-contraception\/\">causing abortions<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>in addition to acting as normal contraceptives. It&#8217;s a mode of action that some other contraceptives <em>do not have.<\/em> (Others likely do have this action, but the four chosen by Hobby Lobby have been particularly proven.) This is why the Green family of Hobby Lobby and the Hahn family of Conestoga Wood objected to providing them free of charge to employees. The abortion lobby continues to gain throngs of supporters who are <strong>outraged by a misnomer<\/strong>, that the Supreme Court banned contraception.
