I know, some of you may be reading this and not realize that it was ever even a debate.\u00a0 And some of you may not\u00a0care what the Bible has to say about anything.\u00a0\u00a0But I\u00a0find it absolutely\u00a0bizarre that people can claim both to believe in\u00a0what the Bible says and adamantly support abortion.\u00a0 And yes, this does actually\u00a0happen.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A few days ago I heard a really creative defense of abortion using Scriptures, and it seemed like a timely article\u00a0to be written.
\nThe Bible says when God was creating Adam and Eve, \u201c the\u00a0Lord\u00a0God formed man\u00a0of<\/em>\u00a0the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0 Many pro-choicers use this to say that life only begins when the baby is able to take its first breath (paying no attention to the miracle that is the baby using oxygen that comes through the umbilical cord). This completely ignores the fact that Adam, being the first man, is quite different from the others\u00a0in that\u00a0he was created in a different way because there was no woman and man to\u00a0create life as\u00a0it happens now.<\/p>\n

So, are you ready to read what the Bible actually says about unborn children?\u00a0 (Because I didn’t want to be writing this article forever, I only cite a few Scriptures…there are many, many more!)<\/p>\n

  1. Rebekah\u2019s children \u201cstruggled within her<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    But can something without life struggle? A blob of tissue cannot do this…<\/p>\n

    2. Jacob \u201ctook his brother by the heel in the womb<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Clearly, unborn children can struggle in the womb and grab each other. Can something that\u2019s not alive do this?<\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0Job questions, \u201cDid not He who made me in the womb make them?\u00a0 Did not the same One fashion us in the womb<\/a>?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our life begins in the womb. God started working on us before we breathed outside our mother’s womb, so life itself has to begin before then too.<\/p>\n

    4.\u00a0 Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus to Mary by saying she \u201cwill conceive in [her] womb and bring forth a Son<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Ultimately, if you believe in both abortion and the Bible, you are holding incompatible\u00a0beliefs, for the two cannot coexist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
