They were told that a 15-year-old girl was pregnant and contemplating abortion. As a young pro-life couple, the Baldwins knew they had to do something. They made contact with the young girl and took her to two different pregnancy resource centers. Ashley remembers hearing the fear in this young woman&#8217;s voice. After visiting the first pregnancy resource center she was still leaning towards abortion. Her painful family life lead her to believe abortion was the only option for her.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley took her to lunch and then to the mall to buy maternity clothes. Charles and Ashley prayed for a miracle, asking God to show her how precious her growing child was. At this point the baby was 25 weeks and fully formed. Ashley lovingly shared this truth with the young woman. At the second pregnancy center she got an ultrasound. This was what she needed to make a final choice. She told Charles and Ashley she decided to let the baby live. As Ashley&#8217;s eyes filled with tears, she then announced, &#8216;I want you and Charles to be the parents&#8217;.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49783\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/98g57w\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49783\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-49783 size-medium\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/1382143_1400202615.426-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"1382143_1400202615.426\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/1382143_1400202615.426-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/1382143_1400202615.426.jpg 594w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-49783\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charles and Ashley Baldwin.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In that moment Ashley felt grateful, blessed, undeserving and nervous. Charles and her prayed about the situation and discussed the risks of adoption. They are aware there&#8217;s a possibility the birth mom could have a change of heart after the baby is born. Nevertheless they refused to let anything hold them back from adopting this baby.<\/p>\n<p>On their GoFundMe page Ashley wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;The Bible says that \u201cChildren are a heritage from the Lord\u201d and they are a gift (Psalm 127:3). Being involved in the pro-life movement for close to 10 years now, and being a Mama to a cute 1 year old little girl, I know how blessed I am to be chosen as this baby\u2019s mother. We are just so honored and grateful that He has entrusted us with adopting and raising our precious baby girl due this August. It is a privilege to watch how God is orchestrating the whole thing!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The baby they&#8217;re adopting is a little girl who they&#8217;ve named Stella Kate Baldwin. She will be born in 3 months and the Baldwins are in great need of help. Their first need is prayer. They need prayer for them, the birth mom and Stella. They also need financial support. The adoption will cost $7,000. For a young couple with a child at home, that is a huge amount of money. They truly need financial support from the pro-life community. Thankfully they&#8217;ve found an adoption attorney who is providing her services for free. Yet the cost of paperwork, court fees, medical and personal costs, their home study and more will add up to $7,000. A small price to pay for a life, but a large price for a young couple on a single income.<\/p>\n<p>Please consider supporting Charles, Ashley and especially baby Stella. They need your help to bring this baby into their loving home.
