The study, which surveyed 40,117 respondents across 40 different countries,\u00a0found widespread opposition to abortion, with a significant majority of respondents calling it morally wrong.<\/p>\n<p>In fact,\u00a0<em>not a single nation<\/em>\u00a0in the 40 countries surveyed had a majority who\u00a0believed abortion to be\u00a0morally acceptable.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48821\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-23-at-4.13.14-PM.png\" alt=\"Pew Global Research\" width=\"450\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-23-at-4.13.14-PM.png 634w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-23-at-4.13.14-PM-294x300.png 294w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>View the full survey results on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewglobal.org\/2014\/04\/15\/global-morality\/table\/abortion\/\">PewGlobal<\/a>.<\/small><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Several countries that have either adopted holistic protections for human life\u00a0in their national constitutions or heavily restrict abortion were among the most pro-life.\u00a0Countries like\u00a0El Salvador, Bolivia, Uganda,\u00a0Kenya, and\u00a0the Philippines registered the highest levels of opposition to abortion. Based on survey responses,\u00a0a striking 93% of the population of the Philippines\u00a0believes abortion\u00a0to be a\u00a0moral wrong.<\/p>\n<p>This news is sure to exasperate global abortion-peddlers at the United Nations, who have spent millions upon millions of dollars trying to push abortion into developing nations. Clearly, trying to convince these countries to legalize the killing of unborn children is a harder\u00a0sell than the U.N. Population Fund\u00a0and the International Planned Parenthood Federation expected.<\/p>\n<p>Even in countries where abortion has been foisted upon the people, the majority of the population remains pro-life. Sixty-one percent of South Africans oppose abortion, despite their legal abortion regime. Despite their vast financial and political\u00a0resources,\u00a0Planned Parenthood&#8217;s international agitation has failed to win the hearts and minds of\u00a0people in many countries around the world.<\/p>\n<p>In order to maintain these strong pro-life majorities, we need to renew our efforts to provide\u00a0local pro-life activists with the information and resources they need to reach local populations.\u00a0And we need to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citizengo.org\/en\/4673-keep-abortion-out-un-development-goals\">let international decision-makers<\/a> at the United Nations know that sound majorities in countries\u00a0around the globe oppose the U.N.\u00a0abortion agenda!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A survey released this week by Pew Research Center\u00a0indicates\u00a0that 56% of people in countries\u00a0around the globe believe abortion is\u00a0morally unacceptable.
