Who’s actually under attack here?<\/p><\/div>\n

“Meet Americas Most Hated Doctors<\/a>” is a provocatively written article from Think Progress, describing eight abortionists who consider their job very risky.<\/p>\n

But risky to whom?<\/p>\n

These abortionists, \u201con the front lines of the abortion wars,\u201d are not\u00a0concerned about the risk\u00a0that\u00a0their profession poses to women or to unborn children, but to <\/em>their careers<\/em>.<\/i><\/p>\n

“It’s very clear to me that the work I do puts me at risk on many levels. \u00a0I’m willing to take these risks, but it’s ridiculous they exist in the first place,” said abortionist Dr. David Eisenberg.<\/p>\n

The article claims that abortionists face a new kind of \u201charassment,\u201d pointing specifically to\u00a0pro-life legislation\u00a0that\u00a0is designed\u00a0to\u00a0ensure that health and safety standards are being met\u00a0in abortion clinics. The article also points to\u00a0restrictions on late-term abortion\u00a0as being harmful to an abortionist\u2019s work,\u00a0even though\u00a0a\u00a0majority of Americans support limitations on late-term abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Objections are made to legislation that requires abortionists to show mothers their child\u2019s beating heart. Abortionists are also afraid of any “surprise inspections” by the state that might occur because of higher clinic standards.<\/p>\n

Abortion opponents have been working to make it too difficult for doctors to provide abortion care by enacting dozens of complicated state-level restrictions that dictate how these services may be performed…\u00a0Ultimately, they\u2019re hoping to trigger the state\u2019s agencies to step in and conduct surprise inspections. It\u2019s expensive and time-consuming for clinic staff to continue refuting these false claims.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The article conveniently fails to link to evidence of its claims or to evidence that the \u201cfalse claims\u201d referred to were in fact false. It also conveniently ignores abortion clinics that cover up\u00a0alleged child sex-trafficking<\/a>, that reportedly facilitate race-<\/a> and\u00a0sex-based abortions<\/a>, and that\u00a0have been accused of\u00a0engaging\u00a0in practices that are\u00a0abusive and dangerous for women<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Think Progress writers ignore state\u00a0restrictions on the free speech<\/a>\u00a0of crisis pregnancy centers – places that have a\u00a0mission of providing compassionate care<\/a>\u00a0to women and children. State laws that prevent Americans from\u00a0peacefully talking<\/a>\u00a0to women on public sidewalks outside abortion clinics are equally ignored.<\/p>\n

When women feel alone in their pregnancy, pro-life individuals – through organizations such as crisis pregnancy centers and through peaceful pro-live advocates who offer help outside abortion clinics – are there to show women that there is help, and that abortion is not the only option. They are there to help them turn away from the attack on women and children<\/a> that abortion is.<\/p>\n

Women who have suffered the pain of abortion<\/a> deserve healing, not shame. And pregnant women deserve to hear about the option of adoption. Abortion survivors like\u00a0Melissa Ohden<\/a>, who speaks of the love of her adoptive parents, are among the\u00a0most powerful voices<\/a>\u00a0for adoption.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, potential victims of abortion – mothers, fathers, and unborn babies – need pro-life America to stand for them. They need laws in place that protect them and hold abortion clinics accountable for their\u00a0lack of transparency and dangerous practices<\/a> that harm countless individuals.<\/p>\n
