She sent an email to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coordown.it\/www\/\" target=\"_blank\">CoorDown<\/a>, an Italian organization that advocates for children with Down syndrome, looking for help with the anxiety she felt.<\/p>\n<p>Here was their response.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"560\" height=\"315\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Ju-q4OnBtNU?hl=en_US&amp;version=3\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"560\" height=\"315\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Ju-q4OnBtNU?hl=en_US&amp;version=3\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Fifteen people with Down syndrome tell her that her son will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to school<\/li>\n<li>Fix a bike<\/li>\n<li>Run to you<\/li>\n<li>Hug you<\/li>\n<li>Love you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>Sometimes it will be difficult. Very difficult. Almost impossible.<\/p>\n<p>But isn\u2019t it like that for all mothers?<\/p>\n<p>Dear future mom,<\/p>\n<p>Your child can be happy, just like I am, but you\u2019ll be happy too.<\/p>\n<p>Right, Mom?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worlddownsyndromeday.org\" target=\"_blank\">World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD)<\/a> is March 21<sup>st<\/sup> in order to raise awareness of trisomy 21, the genetic term for babies who inherit an extra copy of chromosome 21.<\/p>\n<p>Nine out of ten babies diagnosed with Down syndrome in the United States are not given the same opportunities you and I have.
