He miraculously survived after an unlikely series of events, and has made great strides in his recovery. Peters accumulated a large amount of debt from his hospital stays and procedures, and faces much more with the high cost of the rehab that he needs to continue his recovery. Close friends of the Peters family created #IStandWithThomasPeters day to raise awareness about his journey and to encourage supporters to contribute financially to the family&#8217;s needs so that Thomas will be able to receive the best care possible, ensuring that he will not have to forego the recommended treatments for financial reasons.<\/p>\n<p>According to his friends,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The next\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tpetersrecovery.blogspot.com\/2013\/11\/istandwiththomaspeters-two-month.html\">TWO MONTHS<\/a>\u00a0of Thomas&#8217; recovery are crucial! According to Thomas&#8217; doctors, the majority of mobility\/independence returns within the first six months following the injury. Well, folks&#8230; we&#8217;ve got\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tpetersrecovery.blogspot.com\/2013\/11\/istandwiththomaspeters-two-month.html\">two months<\/a>\u00a0till the six month marker.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-42985 alignleft\" style=\"margin-right: 15px;\" alt=\"natandthom\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/natandthom-300x178.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/natandthom-300x178.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/natandthom.png 316w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Thomas&#8217; friends are also asking supporters to <em>pray\u00a0<\/em>for the Peters family to receive strength as they journey through the next steps together. Thomas and his wife were married just a few months before the accident.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters are invited to participate in the Twitter campaign to raise awareness of Thomas Peters and to help the fundraising efforts.
