Wrongful death cases are lawsuits which involve someone dying due to medical malpractice. The family member or other representative of the deceased brings a lawsuit seeking monetary compensation.<\/p>\n<p>This Wisconsin bill <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2013\/related\/proposals\/ab160.pdf\">defines<\/a> a \u201cpatient\u201d as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; an individual who received or should have received health care services from a health care provider or from an employee of a health care provider acting within the scope of his or her employment, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">includes an unborn child<\/span>, as defined in s. 895.04 (1g) (c).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This bill <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2013\/related\/proposals\/ab160.pdf\">defines<\/a> an \u201cunborn child\u201d as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; a human being from the time of fertilization to the time of live birth<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It also <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2013\/related\/proposals\/ab160.pdf\">defines<\/a> a \u201cdeceased person\u201d as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; a human being who is deceased, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">includes an unborn child who is deceased<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In order for a person to be found liable for the wrongful death of an unborn child, the person providing medical care or service must know or have reason to know of the pregnancy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A person&#8217;s a person&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":200,"featured_media":16817,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false},"categories":[11],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.7 -
