Bongiovi, her husband, is the child of rock star Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley, who have been married since 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Brown and Bongiovi&#8217;s marriage at such young ages caused controversy last year, with many criticizing them as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/way-too-young-married-millie-224302025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">too young to be married<\/a>, and saying their marriage was doomed to fail.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Brown <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/millie-bobby-brown-talks-marrying-jake-bongiovi-at-very-young-age-11697943\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explained<\/a> that both sets of their parents married young and went on have successful, loving marriages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis parents got married really young \u2014 they\u2019re high school sweethearts,\u201d she said. \u201cMy parents got married really young. They met when they were 19. So we had just, like, really young marriages. We had really great role models growing up, so we didn&#8217;t see any different. We didn&#8217;t get jaded by all the other stuff, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, she said Bongiovi was the only man she had ever been in love with, and that it felt right being with him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we started talking about politics and how we want to raise our kids \u2026 we started talking about really, really big things that I\u2019d obviously never spoken about, and I\u2019m already very young, so I\u2019ve never spoken about that with boys anyway. But to be able to even think about those things, I was like, \u2018S&#8212;. Okay, maybe I do want to be with him forever,'&#8221; she said. \u201cBut I obviously didn\u2019t know if he felt that way. We talked about marriage, but I didn\u2019t really know when it was going to be. And then, when he proposed, I was like, it makes sense. Everything aligned.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The Details:<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to marriage, Brown has said she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1414591\/millie-bobby-brown-reveals-plans-for-kids-with-jake-bongiovi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wants to have a family<\/a> quickly, again pointing to her own parents as a positive example. And while her career has continued to flourish, she never forgot that her ultimate goal was to be a mom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mom actually had her first child at 21 and my dad was 19. This has been my thing since before I met Jake. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me,&#8221; she said during a podcast earlier this year. \u201cJake knows how important it is to me. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it\u2019s so important to start a family for me personally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown and Bongiovi each come from families with four children, so Bongiovi was on board with her plans to welcome children right away \u2014 with the stipulation that they had to be married first.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJake was like, we cannot do that until we get married,\u201d she said. \u201cSo that was his thing. And my thing was I really want a family. I really want a big family. I\u2019m one of four. He\u2019s one of four. And so that is kind of what we stand by.
