Code \u00a7 17.46,&#8221; the AG&#8217;s cease-and-desist letter to Plan C states.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Plan C\u2019s website advertises that &#8216;[a]bortion pills are very safe&#8217; and &#8216;[t]he chance of serious complications . . . is<br \/>\nvery low.&#8217; But a recent study found that \u201creal-world insurance claims data for 865,727 prescribed mifepristone abortions&#8217; shows &#8216;a serious adverse event rate of 10.93 percent,'&#8221; the letter to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/press\/PlanC%20Cease%20and%20Desist%20Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plan C<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n<p>The letter adds that the Texas Attorney General may seek &#8220;civil penalties for violations of the DTPA of up to $10,000 per violation&#8221; if the actions are not immediately halted.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Bottom Line:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The three cease-and-desist letters are clear that a failure to comply will provoke &#8220;a formal investigation&#8221; where the Attorney General may initiate a lawsuit against them for &#8220;injunctive relief and civil penalties.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If the AG finds any violations of Texas\u2019s abortion laws committed by these &#8220;radical organizations,&#8221;
