Her only child, Jenny Machin, died from a brain tumor in 2017 at just 19 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Bloom was allegedly also having difficulties with her neighbors. She opened her business, the Amanda Bloom Craft Room, and when she announced a temporary closure, some posted remarks stating that it was &#8220;good&#8221; that she had closed. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/community\/yorksire-business-owner-assisted-dying-switzerland-last-message-888218-20250810\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Facebook<\/a>, she wrote that a &#8220;little group of crafters in Bentham&#8221; had been making her &#8220;miserable for months\u2019 with \u2018b****y comments, cruel Facebook memes and untrue gossip.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Less than a week later, she announced that she would be killed at Pegasos. &#8220;I just long for Jenny with all my heart\u2026 the laughter, the feeling of loving her unconditionally and being so loved in return. She was the one wonderful thing in my life and without her it\u2019s just too hard,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Assisted suicide is not legal in the UK, so Bloom chose to travel to Switzerland to fulfill her death wish.<\/p>\n<p>Her friend, Julie, is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DNAl90uMZVg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posting<\/a> to Bloom&#8217;s Instagram page to keep followers updated on funeral arrangements. Despite two months having been passed since Bloom&#8217;s death, there has still been no news from Pegasos about her remains or when they would be returned to the UK, beyond the fact that it could take up to 10 weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>Zoom Out:<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier this month, Pegasos made headlines for another <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/daughter-whatsapp-mother-died-assisted-suicide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">controversial death<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Maureen Slough, 58, secretly traveled to Pegasos to be killed. Her partner, Mick Lynch, and her daughter, Megan Royal, said she did not have any health issues, but was grieving after two of her sisters had died.<\/p>\n<p>Her family reportedly only found out about her death after they \u201creceived a heartbreaking WhatsApp message, which allegedly said [Slough] had died listening to gospel music sung by Elvis Presley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the two were told they would receive Slough&#8217;s ashes in the mail.<\/p>\n<p>Pegasos has killed others in a similar manner. London teacher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12987315\/teacher-illness-switzerland-assisted-suicide-lethal-injection.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Hamilton<\/a>, 47, was killed at Pegasos without his family&#8217;s knowledge. Anne Canning, a healthy 51-year-old woman, was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14547029\/Swiss-suicide-clinic-British-woman-die-family.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killed at Pegasos<\/a> without any notification to her family.<\/p>\n<h2>The Bottom Line:<\/h2>\n<p>Though assisted suicide advocates claim the practice should be legal to allow people to avoid a prolonged, painful death, reality has proven that to be false.
