They <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/cvs-walgreens-join-abortion-industry-multiple-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently expanded<\/a> dispensing of abortion pills to more states.<\/li>\n<li>University and hospital pharmacies \u2014 as well as dozens of locally-owned pharmacies \u2014 are also becoming certified.<\/li>\n<li>Others are still holding the line against dispensing the abortion pill, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/report-costco-decided-not-dispense-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costco Wholesale<\/a>, Walmart, and Albertsons, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/XL0lo#selection-1625.0-1629.346\">which<\/a> &#8220;currently do not offer the medicine,\u201d as of August 2025. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/kroger-care-selling-discounted-abortion-pills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kroger<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sams-club-membership-woman-kill-preborn-baby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sam\u2019s Club<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/kroger-sams-club-third-party-vendors-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stated<\/a> in late 2024 that their pharmacies also were not selling the abortion pill mifepristone and that any appearance to the contrary was due to a third-party error.<\/li>\n<li>There is still a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/concerns-grow-over-stability-and-efficacy-of-mail-order-abortion-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">growing concern<\/a> regarding stability of abortion drugs sent through the mail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Backstory:<\/h2>\n<p>The abortion pill was <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-abortion-pill-timeline-events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approved<\/a> by the FDA in 2000 as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mifepristone-miscarriage-cushing-syndrome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mifepristone<\/a> (Mifeprex) and is administered in a 200-milligram dosage for abortions. In April of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-letter-permits-abortion-pill-by-mail-during-the-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2021<\/a>, under the guise of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-industry-covid-19-expand-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>, the Biden FDA <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pharmacy-partnerships-emerge-ship-abortion-pills-mail\/\">expanded<\/a>\u00a0the REMS and\u00a0<em>temporarily<\/em>\u00a0enabled the limited\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-pharmacy-operates-used-car-dealership\/\">mail-order pharmacy<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/california-pharmacy-first-us-ship-abortion-pill\/\">distribution<\/a>\u00a0of mifepristone (the abortion pill).<\/p>\n<p>In December 2021, the Biden FDA further\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-permanently-loosens-abortion-pill-safety-measure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weakened<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/drug-safety-and-availability\/risk-evaluation-and-mitigation-strategies-rems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REMS<\/a>\u00a0by eliminating the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-removes-abortion-pill-safety-protocols-drug\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in-person dispensing requirement<\/a>\u00a0and enabling the abortion pill to be\u00a0<em>permanently<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-permanently-loosens-abortion-pill-safety-measure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shipped by mail<\/a>. Then, in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/walgreens-cvs-sell-drugs-intentionally-kill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January 2023<\/a>, the Biden FDA announced it would also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fda-retail-pharmacies-abortion-pills-prescription\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allow retail pharmacies to dispense the drug<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The two manufacturers of the abortion pill are <a href=\"https:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/2023\/04\/15\/breaking-doj-fines-abortion-pill-manufacturer-danco-nearly-one-million-under-false-claims-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Danco Laboratories<\/a> (the original manufacturer set up by the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/population-council-founded-eugenicists-promoting-abortion-turns-65\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Population Council<\/a>, which brought the drug into the US and conducted the clinical trials) and GenBioPro (GBP; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regulations.gov\/comment\/FDA-2025-P-2162-0022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">generic abortion pill maker<\/a> which received FDA approval in <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/women-die-abortion-pill-fda-generic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019<\/a>\u00a0and by 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/generic-abortion-pill-genbiopro-nationwide-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> to hold a significant share of the abortion pill market).<\/p>\n<p>Both companies were <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/bad-actors-money-trail-abortion-pill-corruption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seeded<\/a> with investment dollars from the pro-abortion David and Lucile Packard Foundation, among others.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Pharmacies:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Pharmacies dispensing the abortion pill have the option of remaining anonymous or being named publicly.<\/p>\n<h3>Danco-certified pharmacies<\/h3>\n<p>Danco&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlyoptionpill.com\/how-do-i-get-mifeprex\/find-a-certified-pharmacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> publishes a shorter list of certified pharmacies than the generic manufacturer GBP, acknowledging that \u201cNot all certified pharmacies dispensing MIFEPREX have elected to be listed here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Danco <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/10\/06\/pharmacies-begin-dispensing-abortion-pills-00120397\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> POLITICO it had certified &#8220;many of the same pharmacies as GenBioPro as well as others, but is not making its directory public until it has the pharmacy\u2019s permission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Danco&#8217;s list of publicly named pharmacies include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverhealth.org\/patients-visitors\/prescription-refill-pharmacy-services\">Denver Health Discharge Pharmacy<\/a> \u2014 operates 10 pharmacy locations in or around Denver, CO<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/health.ucdavis.edu\/pharmacy\/pharmacy-locations\">Pavilion Pharmacy UC Davis<\/a> \u2014 Sacramento, CA<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.puccirx.com\/\">Pucci\u2019s Pharmacy<\/a> \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.puccirx.com\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">owned<\/a> by Dr. Clint Hopkins and Joel Hockman (Sacramento, CA)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/schrafts2.com\/\">Schraft\u2019s<\/a> \u2014 &#8220;fertility pharmacy&#8221; In addition, multiple\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pharmacies-selling-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mail-order pharmacies<\/a> had already begun to dispense the abortion pill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have and will continue to make Mifeprex available to eligible medical providers in all 50 states&#8230;
