The retailer\u2019s decision raises the stakes of a pitched battle over the drug,&#8221; wrote Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-abortion Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/5455913-patty-murray-costco-abortion-pill-mifepristone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> she is &#8220;deeply alarmed by news reports that Costco is refusing to sell [the abortion drugs] for no other reason than to appease the politics of anti-abortion fanatics.&#8221; She pressured Costco to begin selling the abortion pill, claiming that it is limiting access and therefore harming women.<\/p>\n<p>Although late in 2024, Kroger and Sam&#8217;s Club websites <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/kroger-sams-club-third-party-vendors-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suggested<\/a> their pharmacies were dispensing the abortion pill, the companies claimed this was the result of a third-party error.<\/p>\n<p>This was confirmed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/XL0lo#selection-1625.0-1629.346\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg News report<\/a> as well, where the media outlet wrote:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Kroger said it has never offered the abortion pill and continues to evaluate the regulatory environment.
