while receiving a third of its funding from the self-described &#8220;progressive, inclusive, nonprofit&#8221; \u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baughfoundation.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eula Mae &amp; John Baugh Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Foundation recently made headlines for giving a nearly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250702125756\/https:\/\/socialwork.web.baylor.edu\/news\/story\/2025\/courage-margins-c3i-awarded-research-grant\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$640,000 grant<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, to fund a study on &#8220;inclusion and belonging practices&#8221; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Challis based this on the cited claims of pro-abortion groups like <a href=\"https:\/\/siecus.org\/about-us\/\">SIECUS<\/a> (the Sexual Information and Education Council of the United States, founded by former Planned Parenthood medical director Mary Steichen Calderone) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/guest-opinion-why-left-acog-board-directors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACOG<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Not a heartbeat?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regurgitating the claims of pro-abortion groups, Challis tells BNG readers:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among a few pieces of misinformation stated in the video, the narrator claims Olivia\u2019s heartbeat can be detected <strong>just three weeks into her gestational period<\/strong>. However, OBGYNs say a pulse may be heard in an ultrasound as early as week six or seven of pregnancy. At that point, the <strong>heart organ is not yet<\/strong> <strong>formed,<\/strong> so the <\/span><\/i><b><i>pulse cannot be attributed as a heartbeat<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (emphasis added).\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Three weeks gestation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>No<\/em>, the narrator does <em>not<\/em> claim the heartbeat is detected at three weeks <em>gestation<\/em>. The video uses dating from fertilization (as should be evident when watching the video); three weeks from fertilization is equal to five weeks gestation. The heart begins to beat on day 22, which is the start of week 4 from fertilization; <em>add two weeks to get &#8220;gestational age,&#8221;<\/em> which begins \u2014 <em>wait for the math<\/em> \u2014 the <em>sixth week of gestation<\/em>. And yes, this is when ultrasound will begin to detect that heartbeat, because that is when the heartbeat begins.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, <em>there is no misinformation here<\/em>; there is only the author&#8217;s <em>misunderstanding<\/em> of fertilization age vs. gestational age.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2. No heart\/no heartbeat?<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This, too, is misleading. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACOG and the media <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/acog-early-pregnancy-bulletin-heartbeat-life\/\">intentionally use deceptive<\/a> and dehumanizing terminology when it comes to preborn human beings, replacing words like &#8220;heartbeat&#8221; with terms like &#8220;fetal pole cardiac activity&#8221; (note the word &#8216;cardiac&#8217; in this phrase, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/south-carolina-supreme-court-heartbeat-6-weeks\/\">which refers to the heart<\/a>), &#8220;pulsing cell,&#8221; or even &#8220;vibrations.&#8221; The attempted redefinition <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/acog-abortion-agenda-heartbeat-declaration\/\">didn&#8217;t begin until<\/a> &#8220;heartbeat bills&#8221; protecting preborn children from abortion upon detectable heartbeat were introduced and\/or passed in several states. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In other words, this moving of the goal posts by ACOG is for political reasons, not biological ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/doctors-scientists-heart-23-days\/\">Prenatal<\/a> organ development is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> well-known and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/acog-abortion-agenda-heartbeat-declaration\/\">documented<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In 2019, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31533099\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Library of Medicine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published a paper on embryonic and fetal development, which stated:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The human heart is one of the first organs to form and function during embryogenesis. <strong>By the end of gestational week 3<\/strong>, passive oxygen diffusion becomes insufficient to support metabolism of the developing embryo, and thus the fetal heart becomes vital for oxygen and nutrient distribution. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The initiation of the first heart beat via the primitive heart tube begins at gestational day 22<\/strong>, followed by active fetal blood circulation by the end of week 4.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/dev_article_unit4.php#fb1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endowment for Human Development<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> explains that the preborn child\u2019s heart begins to beat at just 3 weeks and 1 day from fertilization, and that by week 4 the heart beats \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">between 105 and 121 times per minute.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> BabyCenter explains that the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.babycenter.com\/pregnancy\/your-baby\/fetal-development-your-babys-heart_20005022\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">heart<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the first organ to develop and blood begins to pump <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cquickly because it&#8217;s needed to deliver oxygenated blood and nutrients to other developing organs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is plainly visible from the video below from 4 1\/2 weeks from fertilization that a two-chambered heart is pumping blood; having all four chambers is not required to have a functioning heart and a heartbeat:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k0WNRR-epPI?si=HOtt-XP3OSKQkwiW\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe Challis should have taken a look at ACOG\u2019s 2019 \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/acog-early-pregnancy-bulletin-heartbeat-life\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">early-pregnancy loss<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 bulletin, which acknowledged a preborn child\u2019s heartbeat as evidence of life when describing what to look for when there is a suspicion of miscarriage, stating, &#8220;Absence of <\/span><b><i>embryo with heartbeat<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (emphasis added)\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_212967\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-212967\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-212967\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ACOG-practice-bulletin-on-pregnancy-loss-says-fetus-has-a-heartbeat-2.jpg\" alt=\"Image: ACOG practice bulletin on pregnancy loss says fetus has a heartbeat 2\" width=\"610\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ACOG-practice-bulletin-on-pregnancy-loss-says-fetus-has-a-heartbeat-2.jpg 610w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ACOG-practice-bulletin-on-pregnancy-loss-says-fetus-has-a-heartbeat-2-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ACOG-practice-bulletin-on-pregnancy-loss-says-fetus-has-a-heartbeat-2-500x336.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-212967\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ACOG practice bulletin on pregnancy loss says fetus has a heartbeat 2<\/p><\/div>\n<h3><b>Defending Failed Curricula<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mallory-a-challis-80b767214\/?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fduckduckgo.com%2F\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Challis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also took a swipe at so-called &#8220;abstinence-only&#8221; curricula, calling it \u201chomophobic\u201d and \u201cmedical misinformation\u201d while claiming that students receiving education with comprehensive sex education curricula (CSE) had delayed sexual encounters and are \u201cless likely to contract sexually transmitted infections or get pregnant,\u201d than those educated with &#8220;abstinence-only&#8221; sex ed programs. However, as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-ed-designed-failure\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action News<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> previously reported:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A [2019] <a href=\"https:\/\/institute-research.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ericksen__Weed-Re-Examining_the_Evidence_for_CSE_2019.pdf\">review<\/a> of 103 studies on comprehensive sex-ed programs in the U.S. and other nations showed that a large percentage of the programs studied led to increases in promiscuity and risky sexual behavior along with their attendant consequences, including \u201cincreased pregnancies, STDs, \u2026 [number of] sex partners, increases in forced sex\/rape, and increases in paid sex.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>None <\/strong>of them reduced STDs or teen pregnancies&#8230;.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Obama-created Teen Pregnancy Prevention Project (TPP) has been <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-hhs-sex-ed\/\">shown to be a failure<\/a>. In 2018, Live Action News noted an HHS spokesperson who stated that, after a five-year evaluation of the program, &#8220;Of the 37 [TPP] projects funded and evaluated for a 2016 report, 73 percent had no impact or had a negative impact on teen behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><b>Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Programs<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an attempt to defend the sexual grooming of children in public schools and to negatively stigmatize any curricula other than CSE, Challis quoted a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SIECUS<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2025 report in her article which claims that \u201cmany states do not require sexual education in schools <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to be medically accurate\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (emphasis added).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pro-abortion groups and media outlets like BNG often label other programs as &#8220;abstinence-only,&#8221; which is an inaccurate portrayal. Many states utilize <a href=\"https:\/\/acf.gov\/fysb\/fact-sheet\/sexual-risk-avoidance-education-program-general-departmental-program-fact-sheet\">Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) programs<\/a>, which, unlike CSE, do <em>not<\/em> promote abortions, pornography, or sexual promiscuity. And according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/acf.gov\/fysb\/fact-sheet\/sexual-risk-avoidance-education-program-general-departmental-program-fact-sheet\">Department of Health &amp; Human Services<\/a> (HHS), SRAE programs are evidence-based, medically accurate, and age-appropriate, and do not \u201cpromote, encourage, or normalize sexual activity outside of marriage\u201d \u2014 unlike CSE. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HHS<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">further notes that SRAE programs teach:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026 the benefits associated with self-regulation, success sequencing for poverty prevention, healthy relationships, goal setting, and resisting sexual coercion, dating violence, and other youth risk behaviors such as underage drinking or illicit drug use without normalizing teen sexual activity.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mary Anne Mosack, president and CEO of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/weascend.org\/about\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ascend<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (an advocate and nationwide servicer of SRAE) refuted claims by BNG\u2019s reporter regarding the effectiveness of CSE programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt is no surprise that after decades of the early sexualization of children by age-inappropriate, ideologically driven, radical sex education that the demand for commonsense, age-appropriate, and biologically sound sex education has never been greater.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mosack added that SRAE is &#8220;greatly preferred&#8221; as its \u201cprimary prevention, optimal health model approach to sex education&#8230; does not exclude parents\/caregivers and offers clarity over confusion for youth coming of age in a time of sexual chaos.\u201d Mosack stated that the use of SRAE programs continues to expand in schools across the country.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Root Ideology of CSE<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, SIECUS expressed outrage over the Supreme Court&#8217;s recent decision in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sex-ed-leader-unhappy-protect-kids-porn\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which allowed states to restrict pornography to adults only; SIECUS fears that CSE might be labeled as pornographic and then restricted in various states \u2014 and SIECUS likely <em>should<\/em> worry, since the root idea of CSE ideology is that &#8220;children are sexual from birth,&#8221; an idea promoted by &#8220;Father of the Sexual Revolution&#8221; Alfred Kinsey, whose so-called &#8220;research&#8221; was <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sex-ed-leader-unhappy-protect-kids-porn\/\">obtained from<\/a> pedophiles who recorded children&#8217;s responses as they were sexually molested. When the &#8220;science&#8221; behind your ideology was sourced from criminals who recorded infants and children jerking, crying, and fainting as &#8220;orgasms,&#8221; this is reason enough to question your curriculum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Is Challis aware of these roots of CSE?<\/p>\n<p>It is quite the juxtaposition to laud an ideology that claims children are &#8220;sexual <strong>from birth<\/strong>&#8221; while acting as if a human prenatal development video (showing a child <strong><em>just prior to<\/em> birth<\/strong>) is somehow offensive. (Notably, <a href=\"https:\/\/siecus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SIECUS-2025-State-of-Sex-Education-Legislative-Look-Ahead-2.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SIECUS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can&#8217;t stand &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sex-ed-leader-prenatal-development-stigmatize-abortion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baby Olivia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; being presented as an option for viewing in schools, either, claiming that such &#8220;forced ultrasound videos&#8221; will stigmatize abortions.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In SIECUS&#8217;s line of thinking, students should not view prenatal images of children <em>so that those students might one day more easily kill those humans<\/em> \u2014 yet immediately<strong> as they emerge from the womb<\/strong>, those same children are suddenly &#8220;sexual.&#8221; Of course, this idea is exploited by adults who claim that children are already &#8220;sexual&#8221; and are therefore not harmed at all when used for a sexual abuser&#8217;s own perverse desires.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yet, Challis seemingly takes no issue with CSE curricula which encourage <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sex-ed-go-planned-parenthood-sexual-birth\/\">abortion<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-coalition-sexually-graphic-books-schools\/\">porn<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/defund-planned-parenthood-extremist-coalition-sex-miseducators\/\">masturbation<\/a>, and sex with <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-ed-designed-failure\/\">adults<\/a>. Prenatal imagery = <strong>bad<\/strong>; graphic and explicit sex ed encouraging children to view pornography and masturbate = <strong>good<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A publication that supports such a worldview should probably <em>drop<\/em> the veneer of Christianity. The emperor has no clothes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Misinformation and Anti-Life Values<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One other glaringly false claim Challis makes is that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">abortions<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are used to treat ectopic pregnancies \u2014 which even Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-ectopic-treatment-abortion\/\">stated<\/a> (before <em>Roe<\/em> was overturned) are <em>two different things<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After <em>Roe<\/em> was overturned, it seems Planned Parenthood decided it didn&#8217;t want women to know that treatment for ectopic pregnancy is absolutely not an abortion, and it <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-erases-ectopic-pregnancy-abortion\/\">scrubbed its previous information from its website<\/a>. Since we know that the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> didn\u2019t magically change ectopic pregnancy treatments into abortions, it\u2019s reasonable to question Planned Parenthood&#8217;s motives for removing this information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/ectopic-pregnancy\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20372088\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ectopic pregnancy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is when a zygote (a new human life) implants and begins to grow outside of the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube where the preborn embryo cannot survive. This is life-threatening to the mother as well, requiring medical treatment or surgery. The intention is not to kill the preborn child but to save the mother&#8217;s life; at this point in time, there is no medical technology that can move the child to the uterus where it can survive and grow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike a treatment for an ectopic pregnancy, the goal of an induced abortion is to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/woman-claims-ectopic-pregnancy-surgery-abortion\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">intentionally and directly<\/span><\/i><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">kill the preborn child implanted inside of the mother\u2019s womb. For those who have suffered the loss of a child in an ectopic pregnancy, such erroneous comparisons are, frankly, offensive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Zoom Out:<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is not the first time BNG has presented scientifically incorrect information. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022, BNG Executive Director and Publisher <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/baptistnews.com\/article\/why-ive-never-written-about-abortion-before-now\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark Wingfield<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> compared his experience with natural miscarriage to an abortion (also incredibly offensive to women who have miscarried children), claiming what was lost during an early miscarriage were mere \u201cclumps of cells\u2026 building blocks to a future life, not a child.\u201d He concluded that no one knows when \u2018life\u2019 begins. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet science has already confirmed that a new human organism comes into being at <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/science-confirms-that-human-life-begins-at-fertilization\/\">fertilization<\/a> when the gametes fuse<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as James Bopp stated in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Human Life and Health Care Ethics, Vol 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first cell of a new and unique human life begins existence at the moment of conception (fertilization) when one living sperm from the father joins with one living ovum from the mother. It is in this manner that human life passes from one generation to another. Given the appropriate environment and genetic composition, the single cell subsequently gives rise to trillions of specialized and integrated cells that compose the structures and functions of each individual human body.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every human being alive today and, as far as is known scientifically, every human being that ever existed, began his or her unique existence in this manner, i.e., as one cell. If this first cell or any subsequent configuration of cells perishes, the individual dies, ceasing to exist in matter as a living being. There are no known exceptions to this rule in the field of human biology.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Why It Matters:<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arguing, as many do, that this new, unique, human organism is somehow \u201cnot a person\u201d or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">less human<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than other humans takes one into dangerous philosophical and moral territory, and it never ends well. There are no humans who are \u201cless human\u201d than others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2024, BNG told its readers that Christians should support abortions, which author <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/baptistnews.com\/article\/why-christians-should-support-reproductive-justice-including-abortion-access\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Susan Shaw<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> claimed is \u201cnot a sin,\u201d while promoting <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-eugenicist-founder-reinterpreted-workshop\/\">SisterSong<\/a> \u2014 an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/real-reproductive-justice-why-it-should-never-include-abortion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">organization<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that labels induced abortion as \u201creproductive justice&#8221; despite the slaughter of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/aborting-black-babies-martin-luther-king\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">generations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Black preborn babies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And just earlier this month, BNG reporter <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/baptistnews.com\/article\/pro-family-policies-may-worsen-american-womens-maternal-health\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steve Rabey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0attempted to convince readers that the overturning of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the advancement of pro-family policies are detrimental to women\u2019s health, stating, \u201c[A]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bortion bans already have resulted in higher maternal mortality rates.\u201d Abortion <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mainstream-media-overlooks-data-decrease-maternal-mortality\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">groups<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> often intentionally attempt to misconstrue correlation with causation \u2014 but Rabey, without any evidence, directly<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> blames<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pro-life laws for maternal mortality rates while ironically <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sph.tulane.edu\/study-finds-higher-maternal-mortality-rates-states-more-abortion-restrictions\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">citing<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/ajph.aphapublications.org\/doi\/10.2105\/AJPH.2021.306396\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sources<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which used data from 2015-2018, years <\/span><b>before<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the overturning of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Challis, however, did get one thing right: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action <em>is<\/em> a \u201cpro-life organization staunchly opposed to abortion in all circumstances,\u201d which believes \u201cabortion is never medically necessary to save a woman\u2019s life.\u201d Live Action holds that position because induced abortions (the <\/span><b>intentional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> direct<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> killing of preborn human beings) are not <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/myth-medically-necessary-abortions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">medically necessary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and pro-life laws restrict <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">intentional killing<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The Bottom Line:<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At best, the \u2018reporting\u2019 by BNG is lazy and sorely lacking factual information, and at worst, it is intentional deception.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Americans and Christians should question the true intentions of any publication or industry which is outraged over the teaching of basic prenatal human development while defending and downplaying the intentional killing of human beings in the womb (far more than clumps of cells) and promoting the distribution of explicit sexual information to children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><i>Follow Live Action News on <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveactionnewsonline\/\"><b><i>Facebook<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i> and <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/LiveActionOrg\/\"><b><i>Instagram<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i> for more pro-life news.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week, a writer for the Baptist News Global (BNG) labeled Live Action\u2019s &#8220;Baby Olivia&#8221;
