Update 8\/8\/2025<\/strong>: On August 7, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey signed<\/a> a bill into law that will expand a shield law protecting abortionists who break the pro-life laws of other states. The law will also require hospitals to commit so-called “emergency” abortions.<\/p>\n

“No one is going to come to Massachusetts and attack our people, attack our institutions, attack our providers because we believe in freedom,” Healey said. “It’s why we’ve continued, collectively, to take action, and we will continue to take action as necessary. We owe it to the people of Massachusetts. And you know what? We owe it to Americans. We owe it to this country.”<\/p>\n

The law will allow abortion pill prescription labels to display the name of an abortionist’s practice instead of the abortionist’s name. This is a direct response to a case of an abortionist in New York who sent abortion pills to Louisiana and Texas, and the women suffered abortion pill-related complications as a result.<\/p>\n

8\/5\/2025<\/strong>: The Massachusetts legislature has passed an extreme bill that would prevent abortionists from being held accountable for breaking pro-life laws in other states, and require all hospitals to commit so-called “emergency” abortions. The bill now awaits a signature from Governor Maura Healey.<\/p>\n
