(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodaction.org\/planned-parenthood-advocates-virginia-inc\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PPAVA<\/a>) \u2014 a statewide abortion advocacy group that aims to &#8220;preserve and broaden access&#8221; to abortion via legislation, public education, stumping for pro-abortion candidates, and litigation \u2014\u00a0launched &#8220;Bros for Repro.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to a PPAVA Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMIhfHHO4GF\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post<\/a>, \u201c&#8217;Bros for Repro&#8217; is designed to amplify the voices of men who champion reproductive rights and bodily autonomy \u2014 not just as allies, but as active leaders in the movement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will host Instagram Lives, phonebanks, canvass launches, and community events to mobilize supporters ahead of the fall election,&#8221; the post adds. &#8220;Stay tuned for more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The effort to reach men is likely part of the broader agenda to pass a constitutional amendment that would allow abortion <strong>through all 40 weeks of pregnancy<\/strong>. Pro-abortion groups in Virginia have been <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/watch-undercover-video-virginia-abortionist-easy-dismember\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">working<\/a> to advance such an amendment, with the latest attempt planned for the 2026 election year.<\/p>\n<p>The text of the amendment states, &#8220;in no circumstances shall the Commonwealth prohibit an abortion <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(i)<\/span>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that in the\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">professional judgment of a physician<\/span>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is medically indicated to protect the life or physical or mental health of\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the pregnant individual or (ii)<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u00a0when in the professional judgment of a physician<\/span>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the fetus is not viable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This broad language intentionally creates a loophole to allow abortion through all 40 weeks of pregnancy for virtually any reason under the auspices of &#8220;mental health&#8221; Nadarus Clark (HD 84), Del. Josh Cole (HD 65), Del. Mike Feggans (HD 91), Del. Phil Hernandez (HD 94), and Del. Josh Thomas (HD 21). Ending another human being&#8217;s life is not an acceptable way another human being asserts his or her &#8220;freedom.&#8221; And real love seeks the <em>ultimate good<\/em> of another human being \u2014 which neither includes encouraging mothers and fathers to end the lives of their own children, nor the killing of those children.<\/p>\n<p>This is not holy. This is not sacred. It is not something to &#8220;honor,&#8221; nor does it reflect &#8220;real love&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zVk1qM1El9o?si=qI5R2kme3Rg_5-Ja\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cole and his cohorts are essentially encouraging men <strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong> to stand up for the lives of their children, and instead to assert their own freedom and choice to pressure women \u2014 which is the best tactic there is in getting women to &#8216;choose&#8217; abortion even when they want to choose life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some facts that show just how coercive this messaging is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Statistically, a woman is more likely to have an abortion if she feels she doesn\u2019t have the support of the father. Research has <a href=\"https:\/\/clearwayclinic.com\/father-of-the-baby-why-he-is-important\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shown<\/a> that the baby&#8217;s father has the most influence over a woman&#8217;s abortion decision.<\/li>\n<li>A Lifeway Research <a href=\"https:\/\/research.lifeway.com\/2022\/01\/21\/men-play-significant-role-in-decisions-surrounding-unplanned-pregnancies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> of 1,000 men whose partners had an abortion found that 54% of the men had encouraged or urged abortion and 31% of men gave no advice \u2014 leaving women to feel the fathers were indifferent or that they were alone in their so-called &#8220;freedom to choose.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>A 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/teen-fathers-influence-abortion-decisions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> revealed, &#8220;Whether negative or positive, the partner&#8217;s reaction to the pregnancy is significant across the young women&#8217;s accounts&#8230; The baby&#8217;s father was the first person they tell of their pregnancy, and across the stories, the young women&#8217;s decision about whether to abort or carry on was influenced by the partner&#8217;s feelings and reactions.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Another study found that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnancy-teen-high-school-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">teens<\/a> who had abortions did so because of pressure placed on them by other people \u2013 either by their parents or the father of the baby. Two of the 11 teens who aborted said that they did so because the babies\u2019 fathers wanted them to.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Bottom Line:<\/h2>\n<p>Planned Parenthood wants pro-life men to be silent while pro-abortion men pressure women into abortions they may not want. It knows that women are heavily influenced by their partners when it comes to pregnancy, abortion, and parenthood.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/radiancefoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Radiance Foundation<\/a>, a pro-life organization founded by Ryan Bomberger, commented on the PPAVA Instagram post, explaining, &#8220;Nothing says &#8216;bros&#8217; like a bunch of dudes defending a recently defunded corrupt two-billion-dollar abortion biz as they push for violence against women and their unborn children.
