She had been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/crime\/taniyah-bell-murder-lansdowne-kaiheem-williams-20241119.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shot in the head<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Williams said he blacked out and couldn\u2019t remember anything after being \u201cfried\u201d after watching television with a friend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Williams was charged with first-degree murder on November 15, 2024. He went to trial in February and will <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/miracle-baby-lansdowne-pa-defying-odds-surviving-mothers-murder\/17140080\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">appear<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> again in court on July 22.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Williams has not yet been convicted of Taniyah&#8217;s murder. Attorney Eugene Gibbons <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnant-woman-shot-dead-baby-life-support\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">argued<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/VgGSr#selection-849.0-858.0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">preliminary hearing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that no evidence indicates the shooting was premeditated, and is seeking for the first-degree murder charge to be dismissed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Details:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although unable to save Taniyah\u2019s life after she was shot, doctors at Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnant-woman-shot-dead-baby-life-support\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delivered<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> her baby girl via C-section. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;When Tanyiah got to the hospital, they got Miracle out within 5 minutes. When they pulled her out, she was gray,&#8221; her grandmother Tylicia <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/miracle-baby-lansdowne-pa-defying-odds-surviving-mothers-murder\/17140080\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">told<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 6ABC Action News. &#8220;They did CPR on her for 25 minutes, and they were able to get a heartbeat.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miracle, who weighed four pounds at birth, now weighs 19 pounds, and is still <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/miracle-baby-lansdowne-pa-defying-odds-surviving-mothers-murder\/17140080\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hospitalized<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia, fighting an infection. Due to a serious brain injury from oxygen deprivation at birth, Miracle <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/miracle-baby-lansdowne-pa-defying-odds-surviving-mothers-murder\/17140080\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cerebral palsy and uses a tracheostomy tube for breathing. Her grandmother calls her a &#8220;true fighter.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;She may never be able to walk. She can&#8217;t blink. She can&#8217;t smile. She can&#8217;t react to us, but the doctors did say she has perfect eyes and perfect ears, so I know she sees the love, hears the love,&#8221; Tylicia said, saying Miracle &#8220;looks just like&#8221; Taniyah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tylicia has published a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/miracles-needs-after-her-mothers-tragedy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GoFundMe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> account to raise funds for Miracle\u2019s medical expenses and equipment, as well as for a larger vehicle and home modifications to accommodate her needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs her grandmother and now full-time caregiver, I\u2019ve had to step into a role I never imagined \u2014 becoming her nurse, advocate, and voice,\u201d Tylicia <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/miracles-needs-after-her-mothers-tragedy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cI haven\u2019t been able to return to work since the tragedy, and I am doing everything I can as the only surviving grandparent. But I cannot do this alone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GoFundMe account has raised more than $4,600, as of July 17. Tylicia writes that Miracle\u2019s \u201cmedical journey is complex,\u201d and requires medical care and equipment, largely outside of insurance coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDespite everything, Miracle continues to show a strength that brings us to tears,\u201d Tylicia <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/miracles-needs-after-her-mothers-tragedy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cShe is the reason I believe in the power of faith, and that\u2019s why I gave her the name \u201cMiracle.\u201d She is truly a blessing, a fighter, and a living testimony.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Bottom Line:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homicide is one of the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnant-women-die-homicide\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leading causes of death<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for pregnant women, exceeding all other causes of maternal death by more than two-fold.
