She reasoned that if God loved her, she would have a happy family, which she didn\u2019t have. \u201cI just wanted us to have a close relationship. I wanted there to be, like, that support system, the emotional connection, but&#8230; it wasn\u2019t there,\u201d Tiffany said.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany\u2019s desperation to be loved led her to form a relationship with a young man she met online a few years after graduating from high school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was looking for someone to care about me. His interest in me made me feel good. That&#8230; I am worth something, and someone is interested,\u201d Tiffany explained. In the relationship, she\u00a0attended her boyfriend\u2019s church, where his parents were pastors, and was eager to learn more about Christianity and God.<\/p>\n<p>After eight months, the two were engaged \u2014 but her fianc\u00e9 informed her their relationship was causing strain within his family.\u00a0Soon after, Tiffany learned she was pregnant \u2014 and when she told him, he reacted in fear.<\/p>\n<h2>What Happened:<\/h2>\n<p>The couple scheduled an appointment for an abortion, but as the time approached, Tiffany\u2019s heart was moved for her baby.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>&#8220;I knew so deeply&#8221;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>She reminded her fianc\u00e9 that they were already engaged and planning to have a family \u2014 yet he still felt fear and shame. Tiffany became desperate to keep the relationship and wanted her fianc\u00e9 to choose her \u2014 and she stopped praying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t praying because I knew what we were considering wasn\u2019t right, wasn\u2019t Biblical,\u201d Tiffany said.<\/p>\n<p>They drove to Planned Parenthood for an abortion during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the parking lot, Tiffany called the office to inform staff they had arrived, and the nurse began to explain the abortion procedure over the phone while she waited in the car.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany told the nurse she needed some time, hung up the phone, and wept while repeating, &#8220;I can\u2019t do this.&#8221; Her fianc\u00e9 stared at her angrily. Distraught, Tiffany told him she didn\u2019t want to end the life of their child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, \u2018I don\u2019t wanna do this,\u2019 and he said, \u2018Well, I don\u2019t want to have this baby, but it\u2019s your body,\u2019\u201d Tiffany related. He did nothing to console her. \u201cThere was no comfort. There was no care. He just wanted to make it go away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany was convinced God was telling her not to have the abortion and promising her His help. \u201cI knew so deeply that I was not supposed to get an abortion. And that God was there. Like, I just knew that God was here right now, saying, \u2018Do not do this. I will be here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A few days following Tiffany\u2019s decision to choose life, she visited the pro-life ministry <a href=\"https:\/\/care-net.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Care Net<\/a>, after searching for free ultrasounds online.<\/p>\n<h3>Saving both lives<\/h3>\n<p>Tiffany&#8217;s ultrasound was emotional. \u201cAll of a sudden this baby pops up and I just see a hand that starts waving at me. And right then it was just real. And I lost it. Obviously, I started crying and I just accepted, like, that\u2019s my child right there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany knew God wanted her to keep her baby, even as her relationship fell apart. Her fianc\u00e9 broke their engagement, and his family told her never to return to their church \u2014 reacting to the news of their granddaughter with shame and condemnation.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany reached out to friends who prayed for her and welcomed her into a different church community. She received free medical care, baby supplies, and prayer from Care Net during and after her pregnancy \u2014 all tangible reminders to her of God\u2019s presence and care.<\/p>\n<p>One day, Tiffany had a vision from God and realized, &#8220;The day that He spoke to me in the parking lot, He saved not only my daughter\u2019s life, but mine as well. And from then on, I chose to follow Him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany met her daughter on June 11, 2021. \u201cIt\u2019s like your heart is outside of your body,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Like, you just love this little thing that you just met that you\u2019ve been carrying for months. I was so thankful to God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy daughter is the biggest blessing to me,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And to think of how much I love her as a parent, I can\u2019t even describe the love that God has for us as a parent.
