    According to NBC News 4, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Sun Valley Blvd on July 5, at about 1 p.m. when a concerned citizen dialed 911 after walking near a dumpster in a parking lot and hearing a baby crying. That citizen found the baby inside the dumpster and immediately climbed in to save the child.<\/p>\n

    Emergency medical personnel arrived and brought the baby to Renown Regional Medical Center where he or she is said to be in good condition.<\/p>\n

    “This child is alive today because of the swift and selfless actions of a community member who didn’t hesitate to help,” said Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam. “We’re incredibly grateful for her courage and quick thinking. I also want to remind our community that there are safe and legal options for anyone in crisis; no baby should ever be left in danger.”<\/p>\n
